    Getting Off the Fence

I second that. If you want extra suspension go with the new Silvio... you can fit bigger tires on 28mm+. The best idea is to keep the front light and easy to control. Just go with something easy and next year upgrade to the new hydraulic deurallier 1x13 speed drive chain from Rotor. As it's...

    Generic upgrade concepts

Cut the shaft in half and put a Rohloff or Pinion there, so the two halves rotate at different speeds.

    1X Drivetrain

...to make a difference for me. My first configuration was with a Sugino 44-tooth track chainring. Chain line was about 54 mm (to match the Rohloff I used to have on the bike). The chain would derail several times on most rides (every 10 or 15 miles or so). Always at high cadence. The problem...

Q45 - Has anyone tried Sram Eagle GX 10-50?

When I got a Grasshopper with a Rohloff I said I was never going back to Disraeli gears, but Rohloff does not fit my Silvio's forks. Luckily soon after I got the Silvio I discovered XX1, so at least I am saved from those horrible front rings. All else being equal, it is always nice to get more...

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

That's a pretty cool idea. It never occurred to me that it was possible to run wire that way.

    Or improperly fitted mudguards?

Velogical Rim Dynamo audax u not.

If you do not like the noise, drown it out with a Rohloff.

    V20 vs. S40 Compared

...with the 650b x 42 drive wheel than with a 700c x 28 drive wheel (I swapped wheels between the S40 and the V20 to test the efficiency of the Rohloff hub). I think this is because the smaller higher-pressure 28 bounces off the road while the 42 maintains contact. Crank arm length: this seems...

    Front Light Mount Method

...thumbs With the drivetrain pic. I'm using a Rolhoff internal geared hub 16t sprocket and Shimano Zee 39t crankset. https://www.rohloff.de/en/) https://bike.shimano.com/en-US/product/component/zee-m640.html So no derailleurs and to keep the chain free of dirt I have installed...

    Updated Conversion - CruzinSpeed 2.0

I like the Rohloff on my Grasshopper. The only thing I do not like about the Silvio is the Disraeli gears.

What did you do to your Cruzbike today?

Finished building my new S40. The final pieces of the puzzle arrived yesterday: HED 650b rims laced to a SON dynohub and Rohloff hubs. With Compass 42mm tires. If you have some patience and a bit of persistence you can run the dynohub wiring through the seat support tube: The upper seat...

    Silvio 1.0 dropout width?

There have been photos of a 135mm Rohloff hub tried to fit, but there was at least 2 mm gap on one side of the fork! I cannot find the photo, as it was 2 or 3 years ago, and that is TOO many sleeps for an old timer like me to remember that thread it was in! Maybe one of the YOUNG wipper...

    S40- Wow!

Trouble with Pinion or Efneo is that they put weight in the BB, which effects the handling of a Cruzbike. Rohloff is better. He rides a Grasshopper, does he?

    SOLD - Sofrider - $225 - Mechanicsville, VA

...I do not regret it now. Gears are horrible devices for psychological torture, but the only alternative is single speed. I really like the Rohloff on my Grasshopper, but the Silvio forks will not take a Rohloff. Anyway, you are committed now, you bought the Park tool. That wet gravel path...

T50 - whatcha planning to build.....

...to tighten the clamp (same as @Brad R). I didn't request the additional clamp from Cruzbike since this has been working fine for me. My Rohloff hub is now on its third bike! I'd have a chain tensioner and a double crank too if I had this to look forward to this at the end of every ride. At...

T50 - whatcha planning to build.....

I also had the boom slip off. If you send a request to support at Cruzbike, they will send you another clamp. It helps. Until then, close the clamp with the lever and tighten more with a hex wrench. This solved my problem completely. I am also using the extra clamp. This makes adjustments a...

T50 - whatcha planning to build.....

Bill, Did you manage to fix the boom slider clamp issue? I have the same problem (the outer tube is slotted). I notice the finish on the boom tubes is rougher than the old kit boom, which has never slipped on me. I too am using a Rohloff Speedhub, but with a tensioner.
