Good work. I find that it is best to start drinking sips of the electrolyte 15 to 20 minutes into a hot ride, before you even feel thirsty. It helps with my cramps but doesn't completely cure them.

Overall, I did not experience recumbutt on this ride. Now were my gluteus maximus muscles sore? You betcha! My hamstrings are still pretty tight, so there's a lot of stretching and walking and trying not to sit too long happening today. My take is the biggest thing that helped w/r/t recumbutt...

My recumbutt was severe. I worked on a solution for many months and hundreds of dollars. Nothing worked. The only solution for me was to reduce the angle. Doing that, it didn't matter what seat or cushion I used, no recumbutt. I did this recently on my Q45 and it's a joy to ride.

I get recumbutt using the ventist. I got it used so that may be a factor. But I can ride forever on the Cruzbike seat comfortably.

Turned the seatpost and preloaded the spring. Seat angle is at about 30 degree. No problems with recumbutt. Feeled quite good. Handlebar needs further adjustment. 32km today, 73km total. I love my Q45.

Question for those who have "laid back" their seat on a Q45: Have anyone considered or attempted lowering where the boom mounts to the steer tube? Looks like this would require shortening the steer tube to lower where the boom mounts.

You are doing pretty much what I did on my Q45 - turned the seat post around & I’ve got my Thor seat at about 34 degrees. Pretty much totally eliminated the recumbutt. I love it. Here’s a picture:
