    Electric 2021 Q45

I have significant joint problems, so I can't just get stronger to keep riding. I have put a motor on my folding commuter, and now I'm going to do this with my Q45. I will get more exercise if I'm not daunted by hills or headwinds, or lousy weather while commuting. If I damage my joints...

T50 - whatcha planning to build.....

Can you share some more details about the electric assist setup you have? Motor/battery/controller etc... Actively looking into electrifying my Q45, so learning as much as I can. My current favourite is a partial kit from ebikes.ca, the battery and maybe motor I'll source in Europe, the...

    Electric Quest

Agfrag, I went with a 203mm but could have gone smaller. I think the 160mm should be fine as the motor is quite small. The power cable from the motor actually comes out of the axle and I was able to run the cable on the inside of the rear frame - very stealthy and you have to look hard to tell...

Q45 Power Meter from Aliexpress - good, bad... and which one for the Q

Hello! I was surfing for things to buy from Aliexpress and came across a Power Meter. I ride a custom build Q45-electric, so never really thought about getting a Power Meter. Take a look at the link below and hopefully someone can tell me which one to get...

    Electric Quest

Anyone looking at the new Hilltopper Sprinter kit: https://hilltopperbikes.com/product-category/electric-bike-kits/ 250 watt motor, throttle, and small water bottle type battery that could fit on the seat back. This might be perfect for starting from a dead stop or use on steep hills.

    Electric Cruzbike

...recumbent. Been commuting on mine for about six months now. Before that a QX100, also a great bike. Just recently finished adding an electric motor capability to the S40. The eConversion S40 is unbelievably useful. I am a regular commuter with a 28 mile round trip commute; half of that...

    Electric Quest

I contacted Electric Bike Solutions and was told the 36v smaller kit with 350 w motor would work with the 52v Luna Wolf Pup battery with some modifications. I will do a little more research but that was good news.

    T50e first ride

After having a 500W Golden Motor direct drive hub motor on a Recumbent trike, with a 36V 10A.hr battery, with its range reducing from 35 km to 15 to 20 km, if I went up a slope greater than 3%, I would STRONGLY recommend a Mid drive motor for hill climbing, (500W, but derated to 250w) to replace...

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the S40 2019 and S40 2020 model?

...anything. I wasn't able to duplicate this observation so I couldn't take a screenshot of it. Did it have something to do with an electric motor option? Not that this would be something I'm interested in but it just has me curious. Someone may or may not have to have privileged inside...

What is your lowest gear on your S40 build

Yes. My commute home starts with a steep ramp exit from an underground carpark. I have to charge and then take my chances with whats waiting at the top. This is why I want an electric motor so I can stop and restart of steep slopes. Helps that the motor powers the downhill wheel on a climb.

What is your lowest gear on your S40 build

https://gocarlite.com/electric-t50-cruzbike/ So its like this?? Is the non drive (DF front wheel) hub have internal gears and a one way clutch? This is better than a direct drive hub, as there is a 15 to 30 watt permanent magnet motor resistance, if the battery is flat, and you are working...

What is your lowest gear on your S40 build

Gear hub motor in rear wheel (rear cruzbike that is). Got the kit from GoCarLite. https://gocarlite.com/ Its the basic kit in which pedal assist sensor is cadence based not torque based. Want to see how it works out before I invest anymore.

What is your lowest gear on your S40 build

I did a lot of filing around the bottom bracket, and to the inside of the Crankset, to allow the crankset middle ring to line up with the to 7th gear (17T) of the rear cassette, so 25 kph at 92 cadence, with a straight chainline! Are you going with a Electric driven or non driven hub, or a...

    Electric conversion

So 68 is close to 70 years OLD!!!! 280 watts, with 250 by the electric motor!!! So ONLY 30 watts from yourself!!! That's not very good!!! You must have special nappies to handle ALL that the bullshit that you produce!!! Crows and Port were 10, 11th in the AFL Ladder, and the Sydney Swans were...

12 years of ‘free rider’ and I finally went ebike conversion.

Well I have loved this bike for a long time. Then last winter my fat tire bike was stolen but the thief only got the bike leaving me with a 48volt battery sitting in the house. So... I bought a ‘front wheel’ hub motor and put it on the back. I mounted the controller on the back of the seat to...

    Kinetic energy recovery system (speculation)

...if part of it could be used on a commuter to address my biggest pet peeve when doing so. TRAFFIC LIGHTS:mad: So my idea involves an electric motor hooked up to a capacitor to (possibly) replace the brake (offset it's weight). The motor would be used in reverse to stop and capture kinetic...

    I dared doing it

Well if you have an electric bike and Maxwell starts to produce a 500 watt cells you will probably either go twice as far or have a lighter bike. My ideal would be a 250 watt motor with a light battery. I like the idea of having a solar cell charger option too. Like the gallium arsenide devices...
