    The quick and the dead

Get an electric motor so you can overtake the situation next time it arrives or choose a suitable route on a Sunday. (Probably not any burial services on sunday. Maybe limited as it probably costs more)

    Working back into it

...never catch Larry or Jason. Maybe I should build up my muscles by doing something anaerobic, like weight-lifting. I hope it does not shut you down. Yes, climbing takes your breath away, nearly kills me. Maybe I should move to Holland. But I am not getting an electric motor. Not yet, anyway.

Pedal assist on 2012 Silvio - Help please

Just to clarify: the photos of the orange cruzbike quest are mine, not Supers. Also, the details he referenced are incorrect: those image depict a a 48v torque-based engine, not a 36v cadence-based drive. That said, the size, shape, and placement of the drive are comparable. Elaine - I've done...

Pedal assist on 2012 Silvio - Help please

I think that with a very hilly area you live in, then a bottom Bracket motor that replaces the front crank and chainring is the best option as it can use the 10 gears of the driven front wheel cassette, so you have a 10 speed Electric Bike, instead of a single speed hub motor Electric...

Velogical Rim Dynamo audax u not.

Yes I read varying reports on noise generation. The sport model is for higher speeds. Most reports I found seemed positive. And compared to the old bottle or b&m effort it is quiet. I don’t think it will be as quiet as my Schmidt hub on my gto greenspeed though

Velogical Rim Dynamo audax u not.

I know someone with the low-speed model which sounds as though he has an electric motor when riding near him. I hope the sport model is quieter.

Electric conversion to a Quest 451

If you use Aliexpress, there is NO comeback or warrantee of the components! Have a look at em3ev in Hong Hong, that has a very good reputation with Electric MTBs in USA! https://em3ev.com/shop/bafang-36v-250-500w-bbs02-kit/ The 36 V 500 w Bafang BBS-001 Middrive motor, option will give a...

Electric conversion to a Quest 451

Thanks ben, those points make sense to me (as do brets). The mid-drive motor I'm considering says it has torque-sensing as part of it's pedal assistance. I think its a rebranded Tongshen DSTZ2. Having had a electric bike for a few years now, that only has a thumb throttle, I can testify that...

Electric conversion to a Quest 451

I thought I read somewhere that some types of hub motors allow free wheeling when not engaged or have very little (like a free hub) friction when disengaged. Here's my pros/cons for front mid-motor: Pro: -motor weight is non-rotational so acceleration and deceleration will be easier for...

Electric conversion to a Quest 451

I know Matt and Henry! I first met Matt when he had a small shop in Perth. Bought an Electric bike for my wife, then found them again in Freo a year later. Matt and Henry put a motor in my Elliptigo. 2-3 years ago. I emailed Matt today: he thinks either option is possible. He couldn’t advise...

Electric conversion to a Quest 451

Hi all, I'm considering an electric conversion for a Quest 451 (the one with the e-ring). I think my options are hub motor in the rear wheel, or mid-drive out on the crankset. In either case I want something small and (relatively) light: I'm looking for low power and sustained distance. I'm not...

6-12-24 Hour World Time Trial Championships Perez vs the World

My meter has tested within a single % of my Tacx neo smart trainer which are known to be very accurate. I also see from many riders on zwift that when going from most other power meters or trainers that they loose 5-10% off their FTP when making the switch to the neo. Basically there seems to be...

6-12-24 Hour World Time Trial Championships Perez vs the World

Congratulations. Remarkable ride and very consistent. Almost like you did not stop and rode like an electric motor. It is interesting that the 4th place finisher (Marko) required 245 watts. I wonder if your power meter needs calibrated? Huge difference in power needed. I'm a little...

    Electric ???

Rocky, I used a 500w motor kit from Leed https://www.e-bikerig.com/?utm_source=adroll&utm_medium=adroll&utm_content=static&utm_campaign=adroll without the battery and rack. The kit is outstanding with good motor, cabling, good PED, etc. Ask for the brake cutoffs. Then, go to Grin Technologies...

    Electric Quest

I wasn't aware that Nuvinci had options. I have the 360 standard unit, as far as I know. As for power limitations with the cvt, I have a rear wheel hub motor, 2 wheel drive set up so motor power a non issue. I know Ratz has had cvt experience and I recall discussing the issue you raise a couple...

    Electric Quest

Been looking at the Nuvinci, like you I have an electric hub. Nuvinci's warranty is only good for 350w motors (mid-drives). How do you find the combination of Nuvinci and electric hub? Do you keep the elect throttle set low? Which Nuvinci CVT do you have?

    Electric Quest

Been monitoring the forum and have some questions. First time replying to a forum; please let me know if I need to do it different. I’ve been a bike rider all my life, always on a diamond frame with a lifetime of the ‘typical DF human complaints’. Appreciate the potential benefits of...

    Electric Quest

I don't have the part no. handy, but if you go to Avid website for the BB5 brakes it will give you the adapter part no. Then you can go to Amazon and buy it for a lot less than the local bike shop. Same goes for the 200mm rotor. BTW: for a new type of electric hub, go to Lunacycle.com and...

    Electric Quest

Abram, I am in the process of electrifying my QX100. Having a bit of difficulty with the disc brake rotor clearance. The hub motor is 6.5". What motor do you have, and size of rotor? Appreciate any advice you have. Cheers, Fred

I realize your post is three years old; hoping you respond. I have a qx100 I recently purchased, and an electric kit to install. Can you share any info about your install. Thnx.
