...The short chain may give you chain alignment issues in some of the external gears. The internal geared hub solves that and the Nexus 8 speed is durable enough for the motor to not break it. The issue I see is that when you swap chainrings with the button, you need to change about 6 gears. Thisis fine if you have a hub like a rohloff , but wouldnt fancy it with the default SRAM shifters as that is 6 clicks which takes time, and not something you want to do when losing speed...

Nope. I can push against the seat just fine. I have a Thor Carrier seat. I didn't replace the seat post with a straight one. I just turned it around 180 degrees. I also replaced the handlebars with S40 bars. I also replaced my drive train with a Rohloff Speedhub.
