4300 miles across North America on my S30

This past summer I was lucky enough ride across North America with my dad on the Cycle America Coast-to-Coast tour! Though the tour was 4300 miles, I missed around a hundred near the beginning because of an uncooperative hamstring. I made some of it back up extending a number of days until I got...

Moved.. anyone recommend any machine-shops or fabricators?

I'm now in the Seattle area. Does anyone here know of any good machine-shops or bicycle fabricators that would be willing to work with me on the tilting trike stuff? As a reminder, I had built one some time back, and it had some design flaws that I needed resolve. I've resolved those, I...

    Tablet holder

Getting out to bike right now has.. complications.| So, I'm relegated to biking indoors. I like Zwift and similar, however, I've found that attempting to hold up the tablet (or phone) and cycle at the same time, even indoors and in one place.. is super duper annoying. I'm sure that comes as a...

    Di2 battery internal boom mount

I designed and made a nice internal-to-the-lower boom locking di2 battery mount. When inserted into the boom, the tabs lock into the battery and ensure it will neither move nor rattle. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out so far! Pics included.

To the lady on the S40 in Santa Cruz...

... riding past the Beach Boardwalk this past Sunday-- It was great to see the huge grin on your face as you went by! Keep on ridin!

GPS and horn mount for curved slider

I've gotten annoyed with how my horn and GPS fit together on the handlebars of my S30, so I created a mount for the curved slider that can fit both in-line on top of slider, and screws into the top bottle-cage holes. This is with the slider curving 'up' (or away from the rider). Fabricated...

    Speed vs power

Amusing numbers: In November (last month I commuted by bicycle, having had tonstop thanks to the fires making the air grey), Garmin Connect reported that I rode faster than 84% of riders, yet was only 31st percentile of power output. That is pretty fascinating. 84th %ile in speed for 31st %ile...

    Quarq TyreWiz

After getting a few flats while commuting to/from work on my S30v2, I decided to get something to counter my laziness. In particular, I've been too lazy to check my tire pressure in the mornings and afternoons, instead just squeezing the tire by hand, shrugging and thinking ''good enough", and...

To the fellow CBiker seen this morning

Hello out there! I saw another CruzBike this morning on my commute to work. I was on my (S30v2) in the left turn lane opposite the mystery CBiker who was on a Quest and heading straight. So, anyway, hello! Glad to see another CBiker nearby!

balance assisting tilting trike prototype 2

For those who followed what was happening with the first prototype, I wanted to let people know that there is slow progress on prototype #2, which is still in the design phase. The first prototype used a cam and cam follower arrangement that caused the rear end to 'lift' a millimeter or so when...

    Trainer recommendations

Howdy folks! I've just not been able to get out in the real world to bike of late. ... So it is time to invest in a trainer setup for an S30. We're most an Android house/PC house. Suggestions?

    Tiltmaniac's S30v2 build.

No-flash (daytime looks): Flash-on (nightime looks): Happily, I was able to get an S30v2 and transplant components from my second S30. More pictures start again here: https://cruzbike.com/forum/threads/tiltmaniacs-s30v2-build.12220/#post-143148 Here is the BOM: Lights: +Front -...

    GPS Mount for Silvio S30/V

Not sure how others are mounting their Garmin quarter-turns. After being unhappy with my options so far, I purchased a Minoura SWG-400 from a local bike shop. As usual, it wouldn't work natively, as the clamp isn't big enough. Thankfully, thanks to how it is built, it can be mounted easily to...

    That disappointment you get when..

I was going fast on a flat section of my commute: a hair over 31 mph, sustaining around 30mph for that section until I had to slow down for the sharp (blind) right turn for the next section of the commute. I was feeling confident that I'd be one of the faster riders on the segment. Nope. Not...

What kind of attention does *your* bike get?

This happens regularly enough for me, that I figure it must happen for most folks here as well... We're blessed with some great weather here(and not so many bugs) in NorCal, so eating out isn't just getting out of the house, often it is eating outdoors as well. Last night my family and some...

    Fun new accessories!

Was just browsing and found a bunch of new accessories! The new (adjustable) headrest looks fascinating. More pictures? I can't quite tell how it works from the one we have so far. The tool kit looks interesting. The B&M Cyclestar mirror works even for bullhorns. Nice! The MoosePack looks...

Great washers for aftermarket seat mounting

18-8 Stainless Steel with Neoprene Rubber Sealing Washer for Number 10 Screw Size, 0.2" ID, 1.125" OD After trialing these for a few months, I'm far happier with this solution for mounting seats than other things I've tried. This washer has a slightly domed stainless washer on top, and a rubber...
