Compliments about the Cruzbike by bike designer

I just got back from Battle Mountain, Nevada last Sunday. I had spent the previous week there crewing for the World Human Power Speed Challenge (WHPSC). This was the final year for the running of the .deciMach prize. The prize purse ended up being roughly $24,000.00 A new record was set for the...

Well I just had my first contact for a test ride on my Sofrider. It was a great feeling that I was able to contribute to the Cruzbike Kool-Aid Cause. Patrick was a natural on the Cruzbike. Within five minutes and some minor adjusting he was off and ridding it all over my neighborhood. One of...

    Sofrider V1 stem re-assembly

Hey Doug, thanks for the lesson. My headset was loose when I purchased my used Sofrider. I've never had a threadless head set before. looks like I did the adjustment wrong. I thought that the cap screw at the top of the stem was for the angle adjustment of the stem. I did change the angle of...

    extremely cheaply made bike

Re: V1 Rear quick release needed I just took my wheel into my local bike shop and told them to put a QR axle in with a 135mm nut overlock. Took all of 15 minutes for them to install, add spacers. They changed the dust cap also I think. Anyway it wasn't difficult.

    Chain jumping sleuthing

Part deux: Chain jumping problem solved! OR It's not what you think it is. So I'd been looking online for an 8sp Megarange cogset. I found some at a few shops. Kind of expensive IMO $30 range. Then I hit the jackpot $11.00 Now that's more like it. I ordered the part and in four days it was...

    Chain jumping sleuthing

You're right. What I was thinking is that with the bottom bracket fixed, If I shorten the cranks I have to move the seat back. So in my mind I reversed the scenario. Leave the seat fixed and lengthen the TFT. At least we're in agreement with the knee angle :D The Freerider bars are interesting...

    Chain jumping sleuthing

I've been having problems lately with my chain jumping on the highest cog. It started after I put my front Reelight on. Try as I might I couldn't get the chain to run smooth on that cog. In and out I adjusted the "H" screw to no avail. Finaly out of frustration I pulled the wheel to look at the...

    Bionx adaptation

With out a doubt they're more maintenance. They're also generally lighter and as you say more efficient. However, with the Cruzbike FR/SR you'd have two independent drive systems as long as you're driving the rear wheel with the motor. I could see myself with a chain drive system with an Sram...

OK, I've read several post mentioning the acronym 'TFT'. I know which part it's referring to but what does TFT mean?

Sofrider arived an hour ago, YES!

PM sent with my address. Why would the kit use plastic bushings and not the bronze ones like the Cruzbike fork? In my homebuilt version I didn't use any bushings for the chainstay. I thought about it but didn't leave any room for them when I originally constructed the part. I decided in the end...
