    Chain suck

My level of incompetence is legendary, so I may be the only one who has had this problem. Sometimes when I role the bike backward while the bike is in low gear. The chain will drop off the inside and jam between the chainreing and the frame. I am old and slow, so I spend a lot of time in...

Is the Quest 2 front shock adjustable?

Oil seal When I got my Q the front shock was "frozen". The solution in my case was to squirt some oil down the center of the spring and It loosened up for me. I have not taken the front fork tube out. The oil semes to have done the trick. Bill

    Summer Rides

We had our grandsons for the summer and they rode the Quest and Sofrider every day. In fact they rode 4 different front wheel drive moving bottom bracket bikes. Here is a short video of the boys, bikes and Grandpa. Great Grandpa's music is the background. Rext his soul...

head rest Hi Romagjack, I do use the head rest. In fact, I have the same seat on our M5 tandem and 2 other single recumbents. You can see me riding with my head on the head rest in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPRk3E_gUqA I found the seat when we got our M5. What...

    Quest Seat mod

I have had my Quest now for several months and am happy as a speckled pup. Having been involved in the design and build of several hundred recumbents, I think the Quest has hit it on the head. Above Seat steering, folding and front drive are all what I have had on my wish list. John covered...

Why Tandems Hi Tim, Dian and I have been riding together for almost 40 years now. Our rides are getting a little shorter now that we are getting older. We have toured in France and Denmark in our younger years but we ride out to lunch about every day. It is like dancing together for...

    Cruzbike tandem?

several years ago, a student of mine built this tandem. It was a normal mountain bike with a Cruzbike type front fork. This bike had problems that may be easily solved. IF anyone out there would be interested in building such a bike, let me know. All I want to to hear how it...

    possible tandem frame

Handlebar tandem Dian and I love the WYMS tandem. 2 riders turning different wheels is NO problem. One of my students built the perfect CRUZBIKE conversion tandem. He built a cruzbike front end on a standard mountain bike. The stoker sat on a seat on the handlebars and turned the front...

    How about a Tandem!?!

Here is a tandem that one of my students built several years ago. I think it would be a quick job with a Cruzbike front end. You would just have to modify a handlebar to include a seat for you sweety. Bill

    The Scottish Conversion

I suggest that you push outward with your feet as you pedal. This will cause the force vector to pass through the steering axis. Thus, no torque on the handlebars. I add "knee savers" to increase Q. When you feet are out a bit, it helps the outward push. I'm not sure the knee savers actually...

    Flevo Bike Racer

I have a Chinkara that has the Flevo front end design. I like the amount of trial but not the 45 degree headtube angle. I wish the Cruz bike had more trail, so it would be easier to ride hands free. http://www.calpoly.edu/~wpatters/movies.html This tandem has a 60 degree headtube...
