Towing a trailer with an S40

Hi, I am in the middle of building a single wheel trailer for my S40. The thru-axle is hollow, I am planning on running a quick release skewer through the center & hooking to that. I imagine you should be able to clamp a two wheel trailer attachment on similarly. cheers

S40 Chainring - for lower gearing

Thank you for this, I was just trying to figure out a way to get up hills when loaded for touring. .... but after a bit of searching, there does not seem to be a easy/cheap solution. :( I can find 36/38 tooth 110 BCD asymmetric chainrings for Shimano, but none for Sram. It is looking like at...

Adding crazy tilt assembly... but to which frame?

A couple of examples If you had a way to lock out the tilt on the fly, you'd be able to be stable when needed. If the lock was variable, you could adjust for camber in the road. Something like a disc brake, the caliper on the frame & the rotor on the tilting part. Just a thought...

    Conundrum : tandem

In-Line Tandem Tricycle Hi Doug, I have been pondering a Cruzbike Tandem for a while. I wish I had some Sketchup skills, but I will have to just try & describe my idea. It is an In-Line Tricycle, similar to a childs trail-a-bike The Pilot drives the front wheel, typical Cruzbike...

    Some observations on being oversized...........

Shim the seat pan I see you mention the seat bottom not being comfy. A few things that have worked for me. -> Add some washers/shims to the front of the seat pan, get it to angle up more at the front. -> pick up a closed cell foam kneeling pad from the garden shop, add to the other...

    Some observations on being oversized...........

Backpack Frame Hi MK I am a little over 6'-2", & 220 lbs and also found the standard seat back to be too short. Did you take a look at the seat mod I did for my Quest? It has been 10 months since the mod & it has stood up just fine. As a bigish guy with a long back this seat is just...

    Wobbly rear end

Had the same thing. Back end felt "loose" & the brake would rub on hard corners. Turned out that the swing-arm bolt was loose AND the bolts holding the shock as well. Tightened everything, much better now.

    Personal best downhill speed

64 kph Top speed downhill on my Quest is 64 kph, that was with a full touring load. I tucked in behind a car at the top of the hill and drafted :-) For a few weeks a couple winters ago I kept getting top speeds of 260 to 380 kph ..... until I figured out that my light (900 lumen) was...

    Another seat mod

handlebar mods Thanks vovolc, rrward & billyk, yes it is comfortable & cool. There was only a slight rearward weight shift so no noticeable problem with wheel slip going up hills ... besides, I have more than enough weight to keep both wheels firmly anchored to the ground...

    Another seat mod

cargo rack Hi Eric, That is the rack to hold my touring gear. The silver perforated triangle just holds up one end of the rails that I hang my panniers on. http://cruzbike.com/aluminium-panniers alt="panniers"

    Another seat mod

The recent post by Plazebo on the seat mod inspired me to work on an idea that I have been pondering for quite some time. I am tall & have found the seat back to be uncomfortably short at times. I picked up an old backpack & frame at a school fundraiser ($5) several months ago & with a...

    Riding no-hands

Hey BK, if you can ride 2k Hey BK, if you can ride 2k then you pretty much have it sussed, just build your confidence in safe places. Ride that imaginary narrow bridge using the grocery store parking lines. Dodge the imaginary kids & dogs using pylons or bits of trash, just play & have...

    Riding no-hands

Just keep practicing :-) Hi BK, it took me roughly ~600 km before I could ride straight short distances & do simple turns. After 1500 km I was significantly better, & now after 7000 km I probably ride hands free more often than not, turns, corners, traffic, moderate hills .. all 2nd nature...

    FWD MBB delta trike

Offset Rear wheels? I just stumbled across this thread & recently I have just been looking at something that might fit. One thought, FWD could also mean Python. Here is a simple but a little unothodox solution for a tilting FWD trike. Once you get past the idea that the rear wheel have to be...
