SofRider for Sale (Seattle, WA) $800

This Sofrider has seen minimal use as I commonly ride and travel with my Quest. It is virtually like new, with one small scratch on the fork. It also has a triple front chain-ring for our hilly terrain in the Pacific Northwest. Bike is located in South Hill Puyallup. $800 firm. Call/text or...

    Questing San Antonio...

Hello all, I took the Quest down to San Antonio, Texas, this past week. There was quite a bit of activity in the downtown area on the evening I arrived as Game 6 of the NBA finals was being played in Miami. Unfortunately, they lost in overtime, and lost Game 7 last night as well...

    Quest 2.0 vs 3.0

Hi I've had a Quest 2.0 for several months now. Bought it used for $1500, and I really enjoy it. I travel with it frequently. If you have any questions, you can e-mail me at jeffwittenfeld@comcast.net. I also have a Sofrider V2 Jeff

Installing the clickbox on the SRAM DualDrive

User experience I remove and install the Clickbox routinely and have found that this procedure is more easily done if you release the DualDrive shift-cable housing off of the lower braze-on. This completely releases the tension on the ClickBox Lever. When adjusted properly, the tension on the...

Emergency Request for a Vendetta or other Cruzbike

Real Bummer! Such a tragedy to hear about this... but so much support from the Cruzbikers as well! I suppose our lives are a compilation of experiences, both good and bad, and that's what makes life worth living. At least the Team will have a great story to tell, and I'm sure the rest...

    Quest Bottom Bracket

Can anyone (Doug, John, others?) tell me what type/style/model/size the Quest bottom bracket is. I want to source a replacement BB to add a smaller chain ring to the existing crank (stock chain ring on outside/new smaller ring on inside). Doug mentioned replacing it with a BB that is 5 mm...

Anyone for a Cruzbike Trike conversion...

Admittedly, I'm not a big fan of trikes, but I recently stumbles across this TrikeZilla conversion kit... I was really looking for something to help stabilize a tandem Adams Trail-a-Bike that my kids still ride. They are pushing the weight limit on the Adams Tandem (6 and...

    Techy question on the Quest...

BB size Hi Doug, Any idea what size bottom bracket I'd need. You mentioned 5 mm shorter than the existing Quest BB, but I'm not certain of its size. Perhaps if I removed it I could measure it, or it may have some markings on it, but I'd rather order one before I remove it so I'm not out...

    Kickstand

Ursus Jumbo Here's the one I have on my Quest. I had to block it by about an inch to get the right height. Very stable, but a bit heavy as well, and spendy!! It worked on the Sofrider as well, until I tried to put it on my roof rack. I have a fork mount Yakima rack so I remove the rear...

    Techy question on the Quest...

Doug, I just found a 34 tooth Doug, I just found a 34 tooth Q-ring on e-Bay. I bit spendy at $85, and perhaps not worth the extra money since so little time would be spent on this ring, but it is black, elliptical, and seems like it would be a good fit for the Quest...

2-legged kickstand DOES NOT WORK on Quest 559!

Probaby not on the 559 The problem with the 559 Quest regarding the use of these stands is that the mounting point for the kickstand appears significantly higher than most bikes. It is doable with a shim on the 451, but it just sits too high on the 559.

2-legged kickstand DOES NOT WORK on Quest 559!

Yeah, I didn't think it would Yeah, I didn't think it would work well with the 26" Quest. I had to shim the Ursus Jumbo by over an inch on the 451 model to make it work. The Ursus is heavy, but its nice wide stance provides great stability for the assembly/dissassembly of the Quest, which I...

Chain coming off e-ring of Quest 2

My first chain drop... I'm glad that you discovered the washer problem. I was wondering what would cause the issue, amd that makes perfect sense. I also remember almost placing the washers on the wrong side when I first bought the Quest. I finally did experience a single chain drop. I...

    Techy question on the Quest...

More info... Hi Doug, My curiosity was piqued, so I just went out to the garage and pulled out the original Sofrider V2 crank from my spare parts bin to see what diameter the hole pattern was, and what the tooth count was. It looks to be 125 mm pattern with a 39 tooth inner ring. It...

    Techy question on the Quest...

Hello all, Thanks to some advice for Charles on sourcing parts, I recently converted the double crank on my Sofrider to a triple. I live in the very hilly Seattle suburbs, and have found that the lower 22 tooth granny gear is a real benefit. Its just seems much easier to climb with the...

    Tires for the Quest

451 tires There are a few good road tires for the 451 in the 1 1/8" to 1 1/4" size, but the choices are definitely limited. With the shorter chainstay on the 451 model, you will be limited on tire width anyway due to front clearance issues. An alternative is to swap the 451 rims out for 406...

    Quest 451 packing time...

The end of the road is the The end of the road is the treat on this ride. It narrows down over the last few miles and winds along the water with virtually no traffic to speak of. If I had more time, I'd have stopped for a while longer to enjoy the solitude and scenery, but I had to get back...

    Quest 451 packing time...

So now that I've become intimately familiar with the disassemble-reassemble process of the Quest 451, I thought I would clock myself to see just exactly how long it took me to dissasemble and pack up the bike. After a nice ride on Maui this morning I returned to the hotel room and set about...

making a silvio purchase and will be a first time buyer

For the first time buyer, I'd For the first time buyer, I'd go with a Quest. It is an awesome bike! Several pounds lighter than the Sofrider, and more adjustment in the seatback angle. I am loving mine! Maybe not quite as fast as the Sivio with the 700C wheelset, but if all-out-speed is not...
