I sense a disturbance in the 3rd Law

Might need a bit more specificity - 3rd laws/rules I'm aware of: Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws. For every action, there is an equal and...

Tour de Moore Century (Moore County, NC)

Hadn't thought about it like that. I've improved dramatically - 2.6 feet per mile this year versus 2 last year.

Tour de Moore Century (Moore County, NC)

Rode a 68 mile loop 2 weeks ago with 1700 feet of climb and by the end I was a wheezy, huffing and puffing, 2mph mess on the steeper uphills. Did pretty well keeping up with the B group for the first 3rd of the ride though, so with some climb training focus I could possibly make a respectable...

First ride on USS Yiggy clipless

Due to hotfoot issues, many find that the further back the cleat the better when riding recumbent. I've drilled out my shoes to get the cleats even further than manufacturer spec. I also angle the cleat pointy end inward and set the release very light to make it easy to get out of.

    Climbing and Sprinting technical talk

Let's pretend for a moment that we take a vendetta to the bottom of a hill and put a seat on that gives you support sitting up. Would that help with the hill? If the answer is yes, why not a spring loaded seat base that can pop up and lock into place behind you on climbs and be unlocked to...

Definitely a work of art - better for hanging on a wall than torturing yourself by actually riding it.

For the folks with wheel covers - do you remove the wheels/covers or just throw the bike on there with the discs?

    Starting and stopping

If you're a strong masher, that can work, but you're leaving power on the table from the return stroke with platforms. On a DF, you may not notice it, because you have to be fairly strong to lift your leg from the pedal against gravity. The recumbent position, especially with a few months of...

Cycle North Carolina Sept 26 - Oct 3

Isn't it cheating to use a motorcycle? :) I'll put that one on the bucket list - it looks awesome. It's the week before the MS150 so I can't do it this year.
