Silvio S30 for sale in Baton Rouge - SOLD

Sold Saddens me to do this, but I'm selling the Silvio. Fastest bike I've ever ridden and sooooo comfortable. Found a new love, though, in my Vortex trike. Not quite as fast but fast enough for me. Part of the fun of ownership was this forum, so I thank all of you for your help and...

    Climbing for dummies

So one of my toughest hills around here looks like this: https://www.strava.com/segments/5358372 Yeah - 26 feet over 0.1 mile. Try not to laugh too hard. Larry, I'll be up your way next week with the opportunity to try this one - though I'm not sure yet if I'll make the attempt...

PSA - This is why you don't ride during a thunderstorm

Lightning struck this tree and blew all of the bark and limbs off. Had anyone been under/near it at the time, they would have been shocked, deafened, blinded, then crushed by the limbs.

Silly Silvio - you're not a mountain bike!

Exiting my neighborhood on a bike can be risky. There are ghost bikes chained to posts close to both entrances of my neighborhood that connect to the same, rather dangerous street. There are back ways, however. One of them is a field that used to be a farm. Some kindly person mows a track...

1st century - longest ride ever

Started off weird. Mrs. Axe caught me holding a banana and looking at the bike perplexed and laughed at me. I was trying to figure out how I was gonna carry it - ate it instead. Took all day because it was beastly hot, but it was a dry heat. Fell over in a parking lot - concrete to uneven...

    Metric century

https://www.strava.com/activities/314908016/ 4-ish hour (Cyclemeter and Strava disagree about my riding time) nearly all Zone 2 metric century. Little under 5 hours total time. Had a large breakfast, 1 bottle of chocolate milk (Thanks Circle K), and a few bottles of water. For the experts...

    Grabbed the GoPro and...

Obviously I chose the wrong mount location. Watch your nose, I might hit it with my knee. So where do you mount your cameras on a Cruzbike? Little warmer for today's ride Pikes Lane in Baton Rouge - multiple million dollar homes, old oaks, and a recently patched concrete street. Congress...

First half century on the Silvio

Background - I've ridden this route off and on for the last 2 years. I've ridden at least parts of it on all but my mountain bike. It has some of the worst pavement I've experienced ever. The worst spot - you would feel it in an 80's era Cadillac :) At that spot on my bottom of the line...

First and second flat, same ride

First time changing the front tire on the Silvio. For anyone else with an S30 - the first time you remove the front wheel, it's stuck in there pretty good. I ended up having to pull the fork apart a bit to loosen it up. Second time is easier... You might want to take it apart once just...

    Need a Silvio right brifter

Fell over, broke the housing. Anyone have a spare right I can buy? Stuck in second gear for now. SRAM Rivals. Also - is it necessary for the brifters to stick out so far? I think it might be better for something else to take the brunt if my clumsies, and preferably not me.

One leg inducing wobble - any suggestions?

Coasting down an incline I can rotate the cranks slowly and everything is perfect until my right foot gets to about 3 o'clock (fully extended). From there to about 4-5 o'clock, it pushes the boom left (from my perspective as the rider). I'm fairly sure this is not shoulder induced as I can...

    Battlexe has joined team Cruzbike

This has promise Yep - it's finally here! Got it all ready and... Got through Ratz instructions between sprinkles without figure 8s - no parking lot where I can avoid the thunderstorms. First wipeout because wet, leafy street corners are slippery. Still kinda shakey on it, but I only...

    Silvio S30 - chainstay extension?

My Silvio is in Robert's hands, but after reading a lot, I need help deciding if I want him to install a chainstay extension or not. 5'11", 42.5" X-seam. I really didn't like the Superman position on the Bacchetta. I'd rather have my elbows by my ribs most of the time. More like Ivan in this...
