    Large capacity aerodynamic tailboxes.

Neither sexy nor elegant, but functional. Good for light bulky items. Currently have a bladder in it. I use a long tube that goes to the right front of the underside of the seat, where the valve is held by a key retractor.

How to make your Vendetta as fast as possible

The wheel covers on the trike are still holding up. I am surprised that I have only had to replace the window film on one wheel once. The window film is only on the inside of the front wheels, everywhere else is Monokote. I suppose it is more protected there. It just is not practical to...

    Getting Off the Fence

Well, it has been a while... Last ride on the "V" was the middle of summer ('23). I still did not have full range of motion on my ankle, so when I had trouble unclipping, I would kick to the inside, which "always" worked. Until it didn't. I really did not want to go over, so I kicked hard to...

    Getting Off the Fence

Finally! No rain, so I got the "V" on the road for the first time in about 2.5 years. The first ride was about ten miles, using block pedals. The second ride was about 20 miles clipped in. They went really well. In fact, I think my starts and stops were better than before. The only real...

    Getting Off the Fence

So it is getting to be about that time. I am a little nervous, mostly it is just a mind thing. After 2 years, it is time to take the "V" off of the trainer and hit the road. (Not literally, I hope!) It was just a freak accident, and was the first time I had ever had more than a little road...

Are you a pusher or puller?

Just thought I should clarify. When I talk about "pushing" and "pulling", I am talking about legs only.

Are you a pusher or puller?

Interesting. I just started "pulling" a few weeks ago. My "V" is still on a smart trainer, so I can see my power out put. After about a week, I was able to generate the same amount of power pulling as pushing. "Pulling" just not feel natural for me. I am going to continue trying this until...

A little farther north, in SW WA, about 45 miles north of Portland, OR.

    Getting Off the Fence

Weird. The headrest did not feel as comfortable as normal on my last (indoor) ride. Now I know why. The backing plate fractured where it mounts to the head rest bracket. Replaced with 1/8 inch plywood, with reinforcement where it attaches to the mount. I had previously modified the...

How to make your Vendetta as fast as possible

Just a quick note. I have been on the "V" (on a smart trainer) for the past 6 weeks, because I have an "allergic" reaction to rain and snow. The trike has been parked since then. The wheel covers, both the window film and the Monokote are still holding up, and I plan on using them next season.

How to make your Vendetta as fast as possible

Thanks for the tip on Dyma. Also consider this, less expensive, but probably less durable. https://wheelbuilder.com/aerojacket-disc-cover/ My criteria were: simple, light and cheap. I have looked into commercial shrink wrap used in the packaging industry, for shipping equipment, and covering...

How to make your Vendetta as fast as possible

I did not stick the Monokote to the spokes, just the hub and the rim. I used my old Monokote iron (from high school-ish model airplane days) for sticking to the rim and hub, and for repairs. I use a heat gun for larger areas. If I used a clothes iron, that would be de facto evidence that I...

How to make your Vendetta as fast as possible

Interesting. I am using Super Monokote by Top Flite. Maybe we just have more rocks in the PNW?

How to make your Vendetta as fast as possible

Completed a century yesterday. In the process, picked up 4 more holes in the Monokote (for a total of 9), one in the window film, and another rock trapped in between the covers. Fortunately, the Monokote is easily repaired. I have about 300 miles on the wheel covers. Monokote vs window...

How to make your Vendetta as fast as possible

50 mile hill ride today. Both the window film and the Monokote held up. Steering at speeds in the high 30's got interesting when being passed by large trucks.

How to make your Vendetta as fast as possible

12 mile ride in a brisk wind yesterday. Both the Monokote and window film held up. With the front wheels covered, I did need to steer into the wind some with a direct crosswind. The window film is much easier to melt when installing, which resulted in ripping it all off on one side and...

How to make your Vendetta as fast as possible

Correct. I only used rubber cement because it was used in the video. The super glue trick worked. I did an 80 mile out and return yesterday. The covers stayed tight. The only problem was that a rock went through one side of the cover and got stuck in between the covers. Fortunately, holes...

Any one tried a drum brake on the back wheel of a Cruzbike?

How to make your Vendetta as fast as possible

Got up this morning and found that my nice new wheel covers were not as tight as yesterday. Maybe due to temperature drop from 90's to 60's? Hit it with the heat gun, and looking good. Went on 12 mile ride, hit 38 mph (yes, that was downhill), no problems. Got back, and noticed that is was...

How to make your Vendetta as fast as possible

Thanks! After doing one side, I realized gluing to the rim with the rubber cement was not the best route. On the other side, I put a thin film on the rim, let it dry, then put the Monokote on. The Monokote would stick to the dried rubber cement like a "Post It". That allowed me to line it up...
