2020 S40 Warning - Post Mount Paint

When I installed the disc brake adapters and torqued the mounting bolt, some paint cracked and flaked off.

This could have been avoided if I filed/sanded all the paint that could have come in contact with the adapters before installing them.

Just a heads-up.

I didn’t want anyone to think the paint job is inferior—it’s not. It is an excellent paint job and drop dead gorgeous.

Same thing happend to me on the Q45, but when installing fenders. Did I give a damn? Well, no! But great from you to share the info, didn't know that sanding would help in these cases.

The bike is meant to be driven. If it's a show-bike garage queen without scratches, it's a no-bike :)
I once owned one like that, or better yet it owned me... Never repeating that mistake again.

I believe it's ok to own a bike a do whatever you want with it if it brings you or others joy.

We have a local classic bike club that collects classic bikes (Erickson's, English Tandem's, Penny-Farthing, etc.) and their bikes are usually not ridden, but brought out during events where they can show them. These bikes are definitely BIKES.

When I am out on the trail riding my Cruzbike, I get a lot of attention and people often want to see it. I like to keep it looking it's best.

So there! :)

Now, where is that can of carnauba wax ?
