Adjustable Bottle Cage

Hi all,

I have been thinking more about flexible hydration solutions on my Silvio, and was wondering if these will fit properly:

Adjustable cage

If these will work, I can hook my smartube up to a bottle that will fit in one and I can get hydration when I remove the rack and bag for racing.

What do you think?
Cheers,
Rob

Looks like a pretty neat idea. The big thing would be how firmly that top holds the top of the bottle. As you know, most cages are designed to work more or less straight up and down, or at a laid back angle, as on a down tube. The seat back angle of a Silvio in opposite, which puts the bottle cage at a laid forward angle. It looks to be solid and Topeak makes good stuff. I'd say it was worth a shot!

Well, I have ordered one. I will of course report back soon (with pics if it fits). :)

This is one of the bits of kit I need for the upcoming world championships. My first event should be the three hour race, and in August that'll require some hydration methinks!

Cheers,
Rob

Here it is with a normal 1 litre water bottle. It hold that well, but there is also plenty of room for a 1.5 litre bottle (which is plenty for my needs). Having fitted this bottle in there, it is obvious that, because of the way the rubber that holds the top of the bottle is attached, I should have fitted the cage on the opposite side. I will swap it over, hook up my smartube to the bottle and give it a proper test (I am not riding right now due to a twisted ankle). More photos to come...
