I’m late in reporting on my summer with my Q45. I signed up for a tour of the KATY trail in Missouri this summer with Road Scholar. Great people and organization. I would definitely use them again.
Prior to the trip, I broke down and got the Touring Rack. I’m glad I did. It is rock solid and the panniers attached like a glove.
Now to the real question: I have the stock tires on the bike and thought they’d be fine on the crushed limestone surface of the trail. Well, not so much. They’d had lots of rain the week before and there were some soft spots, but even on the high ground, I didn’t feel terribly
comfortable or stable. So, I’m open to suggestions for tires. Most of my riding is on pavement, but if I do something like this again, I want to feel more in control.
