Calvin's Challenge Cancellation

On the Facebook recumbent training group, someone posted they received a note from BikeReg indicating no further registrations will be taken, which seems to be confirmed on their website at Calvins. A note to Maria, the race organizer, from me asking her to confirm status has not received a reply.

Anyone have any further confirmation or information? It would be too bad, she had done so much work to make the new version successful and, despite my mechanical, I enjoyed the course a lot. Very fast.

Could they have a maximum number of riders and that number be reached?

Purely conjecture on my part: On bikereg it say “Online Registration Deadline: Wednesday, Mar 6, 2019 at 5:00 PM ET”. Hopefully that means one of two things: they had so many register that the capacity bikereg had the event set at has been reached and Maria/ bikereg need to be contacted directly to hopefully open up some more spots or someone made a typo on the date and put in March 6 for the event date instead of May...
Praying for a good resolution.

I was just in a WUCA board meeting and a few member appeared to confirm that this event was cancelled. I don't not want to start any "rumors" here but a few said that Maria was supposed to have "purchased" the "Calvin's Challenge" race from Larry Graham, but she never did. I believe that this might be the reason. If I find out anything more - I will post, although I think it is off. All it would take would be someone to just "create" an event using the same course as last year and call it some else, like: "Jeffrey's Challenge" - Go for it Jeffrey - I will come to it!

All comments noted. And Larry, I am writing you out of my will merely for suggesting the name of any successor event! Good luck in Texas!!
