Chainstay Clamps…check them from time to time.

After last Thursday's Zwift Low Drag vs Highspeed TTT (which Low Drag won), I noticed an unusual noise. After checking all of the attachment points on the seat, handlebars, and Boom, I located the culprit...the left Chainstay Clamp. These usually crack when over tightened but that was not the case here. I was very careful to follow Robert Holler’s instructions. That said, they are aluminum and all metals fail at some point. So, heads up...you wouldn't want this to happen out on the road. Cheers!

Chainstay Clamps (with bolts)

This is a replacement clamp for the attachment point between the boom and the bottom bracket shell. Most owners will not require this item. These clamps only break if they are tightened unevenly. Be sure to follow all assembly guidelines for your Cruzbike and tighten the Chainstay Clamps...

Exactly the same happened to me on a S40, supposedly on a uphill climb.
I only noticed this a few days later.
