change your shift cables

My derailer cable was well over a year old so it was time for a new one.Pulled the old one and found a broken strand so I got lucky. Jack

They say you should change your cable housings from time to time, as well. Don't forget brake cables, either.

When needed. Most have a wear line and when you meed that, they need to go. You can keep brake pads fresh by touching them with a flat file once in a while to remove the glazing.
