Anyone ride the C&O canal trail on a Q45? I've ridden the DC area sections with no problem. I am thinking about doing the trail up to Cumberland, but I understand that it is too rocky and rough for a recumbent? Anyone have experience with it? -Rob

My wife and I did the C&O and the GAP trail ride in 06 on our Rans recumbent tandem. This was a sagged camping ride with Adventure Cycling.
I believe we had 1.5" tires on our tandem and did just fine. There was a lady on an Easy Racers LWB who also had no problem. One young man on a Green speed trike said he had problems trying to avoid all the mud puddles on the C&O.
A Q45 should be a great bike for the C&O. Fenders would be recommended.
