This is a conversion kit with a V2/K frame kit. I had to buy the wheel set, handle bar, front fork with a 1 1/8 threadless stem, and a front 160 mm crank set that has a 46 tooth sprocket. I had the Sram x7 brakes, shifters, cassette and derailleur from an old bike E. The handle bar is an Velo Orange Tourist Handlebar. It probably would have been cheaper to buy the sofrider but I wanted to try the concept with a donor bike that I had. I built the bike with a donor then rode it for a while. I then bought the needed pieces to complete the bike with the V2/K frame set to make it faster. My best average mph on the bike path I use was 13.6 mph with an Easy Racers Gold Rush. The first time out with the final Cruzbike conversion was 14.7 mph. A significant increase in speed for a 67 year old. I bought the bike to increase my upper body strength and it obviously must have an effect on my speed also. I have had the usual learning curve but I find the bike easier to start from a stop than a normal recumbent once you get used to it.
