Cruzbike Quest 559: Prescription for spinal pain relief

Thanks to the my new Cruzbike Quest 559 I am once again enjoying bicycling. :D In the last 7 days I have ridden my Quest 201 miles. I began with a 62.5 mile ride on 7-17-2011 and finished the week with a 51 mile ride on 7-24-2011. It was great week and I would have ridden more but worked a full week and biked around that.

Background on why the above praise about the Cruzbike is so important to me: For many years I have suffered from back and neck pain. My pain is caused from a bone spur in my upper spine and 5 herniated discs in my lower spine. To make it worse 1 lower spine disc had to be surgically repaired after it ruptured a few years ago. I was use to riding 10-20 miles per day week days and weekend rides of 30+ miles per day and of course those occasional century rides. Over the years riding a bicycle was aggravating my spine problem even with 5-10 mile rides. I was uncomfortable even if I rode my mountain bike with shocks. More surgery was not a guarantee of success of pain relief and my spine specialist had recommended that I consider give up biking and possibly take up swimming. I think the doctor should have simply recommended a Cruzbike.

Spinal Fusion at L4-5 2 years ago. I tried to commute on an upright post-recovery but it just aggravated the pain. It's now been 3(?) months since I bought my 559, and I'm riding to work most days. It's brilliant. : )
