I have finally been able to remove the chain tensioner on my 20" folding conversion with the use of a brake post extender from Elevn (?http://www.bmxracinggroup.com/new-items-from-elevn-racing/)
Prior to this the brake pads couldn't reach the rim unless the axle was fully seated in the dropout.
Here's a photo:

Here's what it looks like on my bike. It took a bit of filing of the brake pad mount to clear the post extension:

So now my drivetrain looks like...?

I can finally easily adjust my brakes, and wheel removal/mounting is now a cinch.
