We are back at it, and the Guys and Gals of the Cruzbike Virtual Race Team did not disappoint! The hefty boys of Low Drag squeaked out a 21-second victory and took a 3-1 lead in the Thursday night competition. Low Drag knew they were in trouble when they saw four of our recent Borrego Springs World Champions home and ready to take even more trophies in the WTRL TTT race on Zwift.
Teams Maria/ Laura and John/Jim were supplementing the already strong High-Speed roster containing Rick M, Connie S., and Mike S. Did I mention Otto the wattage cottage and destroyer of all egos? This, and Seeing all three of our women racers together struck fear in the Low Drag boys as we know these women are heartless when it comes to racing and the men on these teams always put out at least ten more watts trying to stay ahead of them (they don't).
So off they went with an 8 minute handicap, Five depressed men known as the Low Draggers: Hardy, Jim M, Rat rider Roy, Gregg, and first-time Rookie Andrew. But wait these guys were staying tight, not broken up, at the start and 10 minutes into the race the Dirty Watt team behind them was not gaining. This paunchy group was working together, taking pulls, and doing quite well on this somewhat flat and friendly course.
As mentioned these guys pull it out even though High Speed was close enough to see them cross the finish.
But, It must not go unnoticed, High Speed recorded the fastest time in Zone 28; Faster than all the Dirty Watts teams, faster than our man Rob L and his Gorillas even faster than ATP with Rocketman Russell. This was the performance of the night. Next week we do it again, you can join us if you like.
