(found) looking for late model s40

Hi all,

Looking for one of those late model S40's that are in excellent condition that are priced to sell around $2500. Hoping to get lucky with one of those as I've seen they occasionally go for a bit higher.

Spent the past few weeks working on my hitch rack choice and security model, and am ready to execute.

I'm here in Michigan and willing to do some significant driving or pay for professional packaging and shipping to the right seller who sounds credible which I can see is important as there is no escrow function or buyer protection here.

Want to also make a humble request/suggestion. Any modern phone is able to take stunning quality video with just a tap or two. It then takes no more than a few additional taps to upload the video to Youtube by just tapping Share in the video app, choosing Youtube, uploading it, and then grabbing the link to the video within Youtube for sharing.

I find buying from video to be far superior than from a handful of photos. As long as the lighting is halfway decent, such as that of outside in a driveway, a video walkaround slow and deliberate, can provide hugely more information on the condition of a bike's finish/components than photos.

Here's an example of me showing something to my local plumber. Notice how much detail you're able to see.

A video of an S40 for sale would be very helpful if at all possible.

When you say late model - do you mean all models with thru-hub axle?

Thanks for asking. I probably am not necessarily feeling the need to require the thru axel feature. I've read about the safety issue and how the old quick release systems could sometimes result in squeezing the fork too much, but I'm not sure I necessarily am sold on how much of an issue it is.

To be honest I need to do a bit more work I think on what range of years I should be targeting. And I haven't found a very good resource that catalogues the models from year to hear in a way that gives a used-market buyer good insight. Not even on Cruzbike's site.

Do you happen to know of a good resource that details the improvements from year to year and has pictures of the colorways that were available in order to identify what these examples found around the web are exactly?

I'd very much like to obsessively consider each of the year over year upgrades in considering what will easily be the most expensive bike I've ever bought, if at all possible.

Given how difficult it is to know what the past years' models even have on them, I'd probably say to simplify my request for help in finding the right bike for me, that I'd really like to get my hands on something like this droolworthy one that pains me to have missed by just a few weeks.

Yes it was worth $2300! I already had a V20, but this S40 is perfect for more complicated trails or city sidewalks. I really like how maneuverable the S40 is.
