Front shock problem

Hi all. As many of you will be aware, I have had my Silvio for quite a while now, but until today I had never tried to adjust the front shock (it started to bottom out once or twice this week). So this morning, I tried to pump up the shock. I attached the pump, and after some fiddling gained a solid seal. Then I pumped the shock up to about 150 psi. However, when I tried to disconnect the pump, the part it had screwed onto on the bike came away with the pump, having unscrewed its 'tail' from the bike. I had no time to do anything further this morning, and had to catch the bus to work (just returning now). What should I do to fix this? My new fairing will arrive early next week and I would like to be able to ride...

Cheers,
Rob

I think I sorted my problem out using some needle nose pliers to re-attach the valve. The moral of the story here is not to overtighten the barrel nut when attaching the pump. It seemed to work fine today when I was more gentle.
