Front suspension maintenance tip

While maintaining a bicycle it becomes habit to tighten all bolts snuggly. This strategy, however, does not always help when suspension is involved. It is important that any joint that is meant to rotate due to suspension travel is loose enough to allow this rotation to occur. Make sure that the joints where the chainstay attaches to the fork and the boom attaches to the steering column are loose enough to allow for front suspension travel. If these joints are too tight, the front suspension feels ratchety, poppy, etc. I recommend everyone take a wrench to these joints to test the fit, especially if your bike was put together by a bike shop, dealer, or other.
