Hello fellow CBers, hope you are all doing well and keeping the sunny side up.

In light of how some channels are posting half hearted videos that paint not only CruzBikes but essentially all recumbents in less than favorable light I have started a Youtube channel, Instagram, a website, and a Facebook page so that at the very least someone who holds the recumbent industry as a whole in his heart can shed some light on us to the cycling community. I gotta be honest, I don't know how well this is going to go, but all I can do is try. I am not doing this to preach to the recumbent choir, I don't know enough about recumbents to even attempt that. Mostly I am jumping into this to get the new heathens into the recumbent church. After that... well... it'll be out of my hands. I don't see myself as an influencer, a personable dood, entertaining, IT tech savvy... actually, I'm probably just weird. You guys here know me better than anyone, so lower your standards, kick up your feet, grab your popcorn and watch this glorious mess. Please feel free to jump in on any of the following at any time in the comments with your input, correct me when I jack it up, expand on the things I get right, or whatever else.

Just in case, I am Frito Bandito here, "Andrew C" on Strava, and "Andrew Crash" on Facebook.

I think a GCN-style YouTube video comparing the time around a road circuit on a V20c vs a racing road bike or a TT bike would be good.

Yes sir, that is definitely 1 of the early videos that needs to be done. If possible, compared with a road bike and a TT bike, but also with a velomobile, and under varying conditions. Climbs (to be fair), descents, rolling hills, sprints and others. I can do my V20 against my road bike. I'm in contact with a nice chap across the pond who has at least 3 of the 4 bikes, and has a similar "take off the gloves" idea but in a fair manner.

I like what you are doing here, but I wonder how many people will see it. I quite like some of the stuff GCN do, but I do find some of their testing to be a joke. They try to present a test they are doing as scientific but it is far from it. There are so many uncontrolled variables that they are meaningless. In terms of the recent test of the V20C, they really should have done something more representative of a normal road bike riders course rather than a gravel riders course. They seem to be top gear style entertainment over detailed analysis. I like the more geek out analysis like DC Rainmaker.

I personally ride V20 and DF roadbike... both with all the bells and whistles in terms of performance. I like both for different reasons. Most GCN viewers are road bike riders who ride regularly in bunchs. I would never do that on my V20 and use my DF for that. To me my V20 is more like a TT bike and has similar duties to that... solo riding on fast courses that are less technical. It smashes my DF at that. But throw in some technical stuff (steep hills or complicated windy roads) or in a bunch and I will choose the DF.

I agree Chico. I often get hung up on even the relatively large blurred line between entertainment and professional journals since one of those is profit driven and the other is more or less for the good of humanity. While I hope to be entertaining since everything is going to be mostly on Youtube and IG, I am going to try to be as accurate and open as possible within my limited expertise. Where there is ambiguity I am going to try to address it so viewers understand that I am not employing shady tactics in promoting recumbents. I don't feel I need to resort to that since I am a firm believer already. Yep, DCRainmaker is a lot more reliable than virtually everyone I have seen so trying to duplicate his style wouldn't be bad IMO.
I wish I had enough CBs to shell out to a few roadies for a couple of weeks worth of training and once everyone got to where they could reliably keep it upright take them out for a group ride. That'd be a hoot!

+1 sub ... waiting for more info ;)
Thanks Damien. Most of the stuff in there will be stuff that current recumbent riders already know, so please don't expect too much. A lot of it will be geared towards roadies with highlighting why owning a recumbent is a heap of fun.
