HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUCKY 7

Tomorrow is the birthday of my V20 that is named lucky 7 because she was one of the first 7 sold last year and I got a discount on the frame. So, only befitting that she get some new features for her birthday. I have to say that she is a beauty and I love to ride her, she has 5,133 miles on her and tomorrow is literally the anniversary of the build. Since I can’t return her under the fastest bike ever warranty, yep I lost that bet I figured let’s do her right.

So, she now has brand new Zipp 303’s, Schwalbe Pro One tubeless tires and TRP disc brakes front and rear. Since I was more excited about the birthday than she was the gifts were presented a little early, she got them Thursday and we have enjoyed a little over a hundred miles together with them in spite of two days of rain. I really liked those disc brakes in the rain the past couple days too.

Seriously, great bike, beautiful color and even more of a joy to ride with these additions. I was amazed at the improvement in ride quality over the Reynolds wheels I took off.

I would love a blue one. I have held back on buying one hoping a new color would be announced but I am getting a little antsy. Can't hold out much longer...

Now, that's the kind of bet I like to loose!

This gives me an idea...
Are the 303's faster, or just better ride quality?
The 3-year anniversary for my V20 is coming up soon. And she also loves to go fast.

Currently have about 100 miles on them so it’s really to early to pass judgement about speed in my opinion. The ride quality is far superior to the Reynolds assaults that I replaced. I don’t ride with a power meter but have noticed that my avg HR is lower, my cadence is typically 2-3 RPM higher and my speeds are about .3 - .5mph faster at this point. Rain effected my rides both Friday and Saturday so I couldn’t really push the bike. Today my legs were a little tired so no real push today either but do notice a .5mph bump on my typical Sunday morning route. The ride quality is truly amazing to me, the coast speeds have defintely improved by as much as 5mph on a hill yesterday I noticed. IMO worth the money for the ride quality alone.
