Has anyone ever tried to combine Miche Primato cassette with other cassette?

I have a Sunrace 10 speed 11-40 on my S40. I am just wondering if anyone has ever mixed a Miche Primato cassette with Sunrace or other Shimano/Sram cassette? I am thinking of mixing their 14/27 or 15/24 by taking out a few gears from the Sunrace to get a 14 or 15/40. I find the 11 or 13 teeth gear virtually useless as I don't go that fast (or can go that fast).

This discussion has prompted me, to relook at my gearing on the Silvio V2.2 with 26"*42 tyres, with a triple 153 mm crankset 25,39,53 to a 11 to 34, 10 speed Shim new XTR cassette,
giving 19.3" to 126" gear inches, 5.5 kph (3.5 mph) in 1st at 60 Cad, to 72 kph in top at 120 Cad.

I am looking at adding an Absolute Black 40T sprocket, + a 16T Shim sprocket from a Shim 11-28 cassette, and removing the 11T and 13T sprockets, adding an AB 13T lockring, to give 40, 34,30,26,23,21,19,17,16,15 cassette,
giving 16.1" to 91" gear inches, 4.6 kph (2.9 mph) in 1st at 60 Cad, to 53 kph in top at 120 Cad.

This will also increase the number of rear cassette gears, from 5 to 6 in the 20 kph to 30 kph range(12.5 mph to 19 mph)).

My worry is if a hanger extension would be required for the Shimano XT RD-M771-LC 9 speed derailleur (2.3 mm cable pull per change) 11-36 capacity 45T capacity?

Slim you might consider not carrying so much and lighten the load . Definitely don’t need the top end though. How do you ride below 5 klm / hr and keep stable.

I would be carrying 25 kg in three rear ortliebs and 1 front ortlieb, plus two 26"*26"*10" cardboard boxes folded up, for the bike and luggage while on the plane or trains!
I HOPE you are not suggesting that a STAVED and THIRSTY South Australian could loose any more weight!!!!!

STAVED, eh? @super slim

If you end your trek near me you can pick up the cardboard at the end. Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. We get in shipments all the time and I can put aside enough large pieces of cardboard to build a 26"*26"*10" box. You are going to look like Nemo with all the fins and a tail on your Silvio! upload_2019-5-27_0-1-1.jpeg
Any resemblance is purely in the eye of the viewer -- every one of you.:D

I will be doing many train Plane trips during my trip in 2020!!!
On the Van Supported rides (VS), the luggage box will fit inside the bike box, so only one box with luggage inside.
On the Self supported rides(SS), I have to carry the two boxes folded in two so 670*340*100 mm each.

Plane Adelaide SA to Buffalo NY, Ride Erie Canal(VS), then ride to Quebec, Via Mt Laurier and Waterloo(SS).
Train+plane Quebec, Montreal to Sydney NS. Ride Cabot Trail(SS)
Plane Sydney NS to Ottawa
Train Ottawa to Toronto ON
Train Toronto ON to Buffalo NY. Stop off at Hamilton!
Train Buffalo NY to New York NY
Train New York NY to Portland ME, Ride Maine Coast(VS), then ride to Plymouth MA(SS), Ride Cape Cod(SS).
Bus + Train from Plymouth ME to Crystal City near Washington DC, Ride C&O Canal(VS).
Hire car to Cruzbike retreat Leitchfield KY, Ride the retreat
Hire car to Melbourne Beach FL, ride around Melbourne Beach.
Plane to LA, and Adelaide SA
