The HPRA hosted a race at the Brian Piccolo Park in Broward Cty, Florida for a number of years. It was decided that a few of us would resurrect it in 2010 following a hiatus of a couple years. While this is a large lead time on the event, it helps in terms of planning both for ourselves and for attendees to encourage and allow maximum attendance.
The Sebring 12/24 race is Feb 13/14, and the Catrike rally is Mar 6/7, so we don't want to double book on those dates. Due to facility scheduling as well, the two weekends we are looking at are Feb 20/21, and Feb 27/28. What our family is planning to do (as well as others), is add the race weekend to a spring vacation week. The planned schedule is below.
Entry fees:
Sat - $20 per class
Sun - $20 per class
Both days - $30 per class
*Single day/multiple classes - $15 for each additional class?
*Both days/multiple classes - $10 for each additional class?

- plus sponsorship input

In case of time constraints on the second day, the last man out format will be dropped.
For people in the south east U.S. that lack opportunities in the form of recumbent events, this might fill that hole. The HPRA events are great opportunities to meet fellow bent enthusiasts, see interesting machines and participate in a sporting event where winning is far from the only goal. The final date will be nailed down based on feedback from interested parties. This preliminary announcement will be circulated on a number of forums and mailing lists in areas where there might be interest.
