Ideas for Mounting Cyclometer

My Cateye Padrone (wireless), when mounted to my handlebars 7s too far from the sensor which I have mounted on the chainstay. Mounting it on the fork, allowing a closer distance to my computer involves some ugly mods. in order to get the sensor close to the magnet.
What has worked for you? I don’t necessarily need to see the computer while I’m actively riding. Thanks

This has been a problem with other recumbents using wireless computers. The distance is just a bit too far for the wireless signal.
I use a Planet Bike Protege 8 wired computer on both my Silvio and Vendetta.
I bought an extra mount so I can switch it between bikes and it's smaller than a GPS unit so more aero.
Since I know the route on almost all my rides I don't see much need for a GPS.
The computer gives me all the relevant ride stats and has a thermometer included.
My heart rate tracking is on my smart watch.
It's old school but it works for me...
