IS2000 to flat disc brake mount???

So it looks like I done stuffed up. I got excited by the new hotness namely a ultegra brifter and brake combo only to find the new flat mount standard does not seem compatible with the IS2000 / post mount adapter. I am madly trying to find surely someone has come up with an IS2000 to flat mount adapter by now it can't be that hard o_O .
I guess demand is not there to have the new sleek frame integrating brake stick out . Looks like I will either need to run 2 adapters or get a different brake.

No unfortunately. There is no adapter. Flat mount is not backward compatible. I know this cuz trying to make an adapter just won't work with 160/140 discs(maybe with larger discs might be possible). I had to buy post mount calipers to finish converting to hydro disc brakes. Sorry

At each end of my Silvio I have two adapters screwed together. I have loads of different shapes of adapter. I tried them all in different combinations different ways round until I got the callipers in the right place. Took ages.

Different design specs for everything these days. Look what the audio and electronics people did. 45RPM LP? Cassette? USB? I wonder if the owners of Magura and SRAM and Bontrager all used Betamax and tape cartridges.

More information required. If hydraulic there are two standard Shimano connectors.. bh59 an bh90 I think. So check that. Rs808 and rs 785 are bh59. Dunno bout ultegra hydro but Google it

Can I use a Shimano road caliper with the Ultegra brifter?

Hi Barry not 100% sure what you’re asking.

I used trp sl mechanical calipers with ultegra 6800 11 speed brifters for disc brakes. They worked fine.

so did the original rim brakes with aforementioned ultegra brifters.

so did the original rim Spyre calipers with Ultegra rakes with aforementioned ultegra brifters.
I too have TRP Spyre ROAD calipers with Utegra SL ST 6703 brifters!

I have hydraulic Ultegra brifters that I now need compatible disc calipers for as I cannot mount the flat mount

I bought rs785 post mount they're bh59 compatible... What do the ultegras run are the flat mount s like the 808's cuz they're bh59 as well. Not really a cheap exercise but it is what it is

I have them on my 2020 S40. Still haven't ridden it yet, but they work with 160/160mm discs. More about it here:
https://forum.cruzbike.com/threads/flat-mount-caliper-clearance-s40.13565/

At the time this thread was open I didn't see it unfortunatelly, since the adapter was available even then. I wasn't sure if it will work on the S40 frame, no one tried it before, so I risked and got a pair (I already bought the brakes/calipers). Fortunately, the adapters seem to do the job just fine. Will have more info once I ride the bike, but I don't think there will be issues since standing still all seems to be fine.
