Kid-sized conversion

Hi all

Two years ago I bought conversion kit. Since then, it 'improved' two different donors. This is my third conversion. I decided to post some pictures, because AFAIK it is something not seen on this forum

. I have converted kid bike with 20" wheels. My daughter was very unhappy, she was too small for daddy's 'bents. Now, she grown up enough to try Cruzbike

Conversion wasn't painless - I was unable to get front brake working, and front wheel takes most of bike weight:

But - it is rideable enough to get 9-year old girl happy

My Daughter has same Cruzbike interests

Hi all,

My daughte is now almost nine and has been a big fan of "daddy's Cruzbike" from the begin that I am a dealer. So fisrt I made one like in the other picture, but now I have made a special Kids Cruzbike which is based on the white frame a front fork and a conversion kit. The front parts is made from Quest parts ( I paint it black instead of orange) and so are the wheels. I think this should really become a Cruzbike product in the future as well. A German friend of mine has also the idea that kids like the Cruzbike and wants to have one if they are on sale. So hope Cruzbike will find a way to put something on the market. I think just the fork and the small front part will be enough to put on the selling list. All other parts are allready on the market.

Hope you like this kids ideas and make some for your kids as well.

Front brake for 20" suspension fork conversion

Hello hrr,

I want the kids (not mine, I have none, but in general) to ride Cruzbikes, too, and therefore I am a little disappointed because I searched the Internet now for 10 minutes and could not find an adapter to mount a front brake on your conversion´s cantilever mount.
I think a fast bike like the Cruzbike needs a front brake.
(Set aside the fact that you are forced by law to have two brakes on the bike here in Germany if you want to ride in public spaces.)
BUUUT!!
Here is the solution: you replace the suspension fork by a non-suspension fork and the normal V-brakes should work:

Maybe the tech guys can comment on that, too - Doug, I think you proposed an adaptor for a similar brake problem once in the Forum, right?

Front brake

Hi Hrr,

It is to bad that I just through away all the bike parts of my first Cruzbike for kids. It has an fork like Ernest wrote and that was working. So I think you also should find a front fork without the suspension or look for a disc brake like the wheels have on my kids Cruzbike now. I have found an adaptor in England to mount a disc brake on the back of the bike as well. This adaptor works and it makes the bike save now.

Cruzbikes for kids? I came across this page on the internet and thought it is interesting. Is there enough market for such?
