Latest T50 complete ordered with plan to electrify in the future

I just ordered a T50 yesterday (Fri. Dec. 19, 2025) and plan to electrify it in the future since I'm retired and want to join my wife riding with her Mooncool trike.
Does anyone have experience in adding electrification to the new model T50? Looking to use Cruzbike's recommended electrification company Electric Bike Solutions. https://gocarlite.com/electric-t50-cruzbike/

I used the Electric Bike Solutions kit for 5000 miles, but now use a Bafang kit. The wiring harness of the Bafang is excellent. Also, you can look up the lengths of the various wires to see how it will fit on your bike. I should mention that I have the original T50 which has been modded as the avatar shows.

Thanks for that info! What is the price point difference between the EBS and Bafang and are the kits comparable? I do like they way my wife's Mooncool battery mounted under the seat is easily removed for charging and swapping batteries especially if you want more AmpHours.

The only good place to install the battery is under the seat. Placing on rear rack leads to shimmying. Because I did not trust the included bracket to hold the battery upside down, I made a secondary support because most normal applications have the battery right side up. Would not be pretty if battery mount broke. I don't know offhand what the price point difference is, but the Bafang kit's wiring harness makes for a nice clean installation. One thing though, I could not figure how to make the brake cutoffs work with the hydraulic levers I have. I did make a kill switch using one of the wires, but now run the system without cutoffs.

In either case, you will probably have to slightly file the dropouts to get drive wheel in. You would be using the rear wheel with motor, not the front wheel. I don't know if anyone has ever tried to make both wheels driven on the T50. The Bafang offers the drive wheel in 27.5 inch size, whereas the EBS kit does not. This may have changed.

Before I put the second kit on, I waited to see how my chemo was working.

With my current setup swapping batteries is not practical. Carrying spare battery on back rack would probably still cause shimmying.

As mentioned before, it was not necessary to splice in more wire to make this work. Kit has cadence sensor and tapered spindle cranks must be used.

Good luck on your quest. David
