Looks like I'm gonna be an S40 owner Friday!

Hi all!

It all started with a pre-owned Silvio 2.0...
Then, a Vendetta V2 and now, I'm welcoming a nice green S40 to my stable!
I pick it up Friday evening!!!

Some may ask, "If he has a Vendetta, why is he getting an S40?" The answer?
I love my Vendetta a lot!
But, sometimes, it's hard to socialize with my slower friends when I'm on the Vendetta :).
I'm thinking with the S40, I'll be sitting more upright, riding slower and be more social...
A bunch of my friends are interested in testing a cruzbike, but think the Vendetta leans way too far back for them. I'm guessing a few will be lining up to try the S40...

Anyway, I'm Rudy and I'm a Cruzbikeaholic...

Blessings,
Rudy (AKA DocS)

You aren't really there until you joined the deepest of the Cruzies in the virtual world. Here's the hardcorest of the hardcore Cruzbikers.

I'm trending in the opposite direction: have an S40, will likely get a Vendetta (but only if it's lighter than the current model). Will keep both.

I don't have a trainer.
I like riding outside. I can't imagine riding on a trainer...

Greg S,
a Silvio 2.0 seat is about 28 degrees, so in-between the S40 and Vendetta. It was a great bike, but after learning to ride the Silvio, I wanted a Vendetta for speed...

My current Average Speed on the Vendetta is 22 mph on a 50 mile or so Texas Hill Country ride. I'm faster, but sometime miss not looking up at everyone from weird angles. I found one local for a good deal and am snapping it up :)
I guess I need to look at something to sell (or my wife is gonna kill me!)

Blessings,
DocS

I think all those people on the list are also lovers of outside riding. Hard to believe they aren't. Think of the trainer as just another recumbent, which actually it is, just cheaper.

I can ride on the trainer even on those days work runs long or family needs me to do things or the weather isn’t what I want or .... indoor riding is very complementary to outdoor riding. If you join us for the TTT’s for the winter, you will be a stronger rider in the spring :)

I also have a V20 and S40 and they are two different bikes for sure.

The biggest differences for me was the S40 is less twitchy at slow speed, is a more relaxed posture on the bike and with it's shorter wheelbase you can corner better. I found my head would stay forward of the head rest so bought a suspension headrest and now my position on the bike is as comfy as ever.

The V20 still has it's place for sure, TT's, KOM's or if you just want to go fast.

Enjoy your new ride.

I can absolutely see using one in bad weather (I don't ride in the rain). but I do usually ride all winter. I'm in central Texas... No snow :)
I mostly ride at night in the winter. Lots of solo riding...

Have you ever ridden on a smart trainer riding alongside your best bud who may be 2000 miles away? If not go to your LBS and at least ride on one to understand what all the hoopla is about before forming an opinion. You're welcome to Drop in on the Cruzbike race channel during tonight's race and listen in. High speed will be more racey while low drag more entertaining. Pick your poison.

i have my tica on a wahoo for indoor. but, all things considered, i much prefer out door riding. that is why i have my trike set up with a fairing and studded snow tires.

i was on zwift for a year, and just never warmed up to it. when i get on the wahoo, i turn on a movie, or i binge watch something, and two hours later i stop.

certainly not a brilliant training regimen, but it does give me cover to watch kung fu movies or scifi or westerns that my wife has zero interest in.

I just got back...

I tested it out a little and like the difference in seating! Definitely a different riding perspective... i like it!

My friends are calling it the Green Hornet!. I like it :)...
I took it out for a little shakedown ride and need to make some adjustments... the disk breaks need to be properly adjusted as does the derrailure...

I even took it on a hard packed dirt trail and it handled better than i hoped for!

Blessings all!,

I take mine on gravel trail sometimes. It does well on hard packed dirt. Loose gravels are not so good. Gravel ride gets pretty brain jarring and dusty, so not my preferred ride. Definitely no car to compete with, so that's a plus.
