Nervous carboyoke assembly question

So I woke up in a cold sweat this morning as it occurred to me that when my bike mechanic and me were assembling the rear carboyoke onto the frame it wouldn't fit, it wouldn't slide in easily.
I think we checked for paint in the way but when it wouldn't slide easily we put a rag on the end and tap-tap-tapped it with a plastic mallet. Very easy like, but still, we "forced" it.

I woke up in a cold sweat because I realized that we could have scratched that carboyoke right there at the joint and therefore made it a point of failure.

Am I just overly anxious about the build or should I really worry about that piece and take it off for an inspection?
