Hi, I just recently got a few bikes from my brother who was downsizing his collection. I'm new to the recumbent world so I thought I would introduce myself and read up on how to set these bad boys up. My new collection includes a couple of conversions kits, and a Q45. I look forward to scouring the forums for tips/tricks and getting to know the community.

Welcome... bike is a bike is a bike. But a Vendetta is not a bike... its a flying crazy dream machine.

Love Cruzbike'n but if it the respect it deserves. 50kph is 10 feet per minute so learn at a slow speed before opening her up.

I plan to, but first off I'm going to go through and clean, oil, grease, and make sure the wheels are true this week after work. I think they've been collecting dust for a while now so I want to make sure everything is in good working order before trying to ride it. Hopefully I'll be able to have it on a flat piece of tarmac this weekend. I'm a big guy so it should be interesting...

Skoozul, view the training videos and plan to spend quite a few hours just practicing control. Once you feel ready, start somewhere quiet without cars. Don’t forget to continue to practice your handling skills as well.

It is well worth taking the time to learn to ride.

Indeed welcome! I am also pretty new and the advice on here from the community is fantastic. You'll learn a ton. At least, I have. (Going to post another question here after this!)

I learned in a parking lot spending hours doing figure 8s between the parking lines and learning how to balance. I'm still learning but I'm much better. Despite the looks and laughs from friends (and confused looks from LBS mechanics) it's a great bike; great people; great community. Get ready to grin!
