whereabouts unknown
so as a part of the next phase of my delta trike and low racer research, i have now inventoried another rear axle housing simiarl to the one on franken trike but 2" wider, and still -12 degrees camber, a pair of 26 non drive wheels, 451 and 406 drive wheels, a performer 451/406 front drive fork, a t50 frame, and most of a sofrider that had never seen the light of day. this of course is added to my normal pile of parts, bikes and trikes.
laying the stuff out in my shop.....not in my kitchen ( @LarryOz ) and looking at parts and frames and angles, i think the next test mule will be the t50. it has the most favorable angles without cutting or welding of the frame
that said, the first front end i do will be to cut down a stock t 50 front end to run 451 and 406, and then work with different combinations of front and rear wheels in bicycle form. i wont do the @Emeljay mod yet, but it seems likely to follow quickly after the first round of tests. i have plenty of mechs cranks and brake sets, so it will really be about the front fork mod and the rear end set up.
the plan is to explore the low racer format first, and then make it convertible to fixed rear trike and then work with rear axle placement to optimize headtube angle and center of gravity. i may shift to the thor seat, but my first version on the trike i expect will move the seat supports back to the rear axle housing if the frame cannot hold rigidity as a simple T. this is what i found to be the case with frankentrike.
feel free to toss ideas my way.
