Q handlebars

I have an older Q45... 2018 model I think. I was looking at pics of the new model and noticed that the handlebars swept forward then down to allow a better reach for those of us with longer arms and therefore provide more leverage for climbing or when you wanted to apply more power. Cruzbike now offers these new bars in the accessories page so I bought and replaced my original bars which were much too close to my body even with the boom all the way out. The difference was much greater than I expected!!! Climbing and accelerating now is nearly equal to that of my S40. I was so amazed at the difference. Something to consider if you need a longer reach like me.

Indeed the new bars are far far better than the older ones on the Q45 (which were off the shelf bars)

These new ones are custom made for us. They will make for a great transformation of the older Q45.

Did you have to do any re-cabling of your machine?

Note the grip section of the new bar is pretty long - and can be cut down a bit for a better fit and clearance in turns. I personally like 2cm off each side. The next production batch of bars will be a bit shorter as such.

I thought the cable routing was perfect, though I'll be trimming off some length once I get some new cable end terminals.

I modified both my QX100 in 2016 and original Q45 in 2018 with Soma Gator Dirt Drop handlebars. A little wider than the 2021 Q45 handlebars. Agree with Robert Holler, I'll like cut these bars a little. Image of the 2018 Q45 with the Soma Gator bars on a Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail tour last January.

Do you have a thread or can you start one on you baggage setup? It looks good but I can’t make out how you did it. And what wheels and tires are those? They look awesome.

Panniers are Arkel RT-40 Recumbent Panniers. Wheels are Aerospoke, no longer made with Continental Gatorskins 559x28. Underseat bags are Axiom Cycling Gear Seymour handlebar bags.
