rode single track MTB trails on my Q45 Wednesday

It was fun. And doable. Had to stop on a number of climbs because it just wasn't viable.

Perhaps if I pulled the trigger on my shopping cart:

Rode again today. Very hard for over an hour on orange single track and green general use trails. The single track would often get out of hand and I'd just turn back and find another way to ride. I pushed the Q45 really hard and on some climbs with tree roots causing me to be popping small wheelies as I powered upward, often making it to the top but not always and often having to put a foot down and trying to start again.

Was here:

seriously premium trails on probably the highest property tax location in Michigan outside of the holiday destinations up north. These trails are the stuff of dreams. It's really something with the bed of golden leaves here in this fall.

Got a stick caught between the chain at one point. It derailed the chain and the chain nicked the hell out of the inside of my fork. Oh well. Picking up a vile of color matched touchup from the local auto specialty shop next week anyway.

Rode one of the trails so far at one point that I decided I really had better learn to change a tube mid-ride on this bike, and turned back. I was really out there and walking back would have been a pretty big problem.

Anyway, amazing bike and I love it to death. Except for some the stupidly challenging sections of single track wherein the trail goes up at a steep incline, wraps around with a sharp turn, and is covered in roots making it hard as hell to traverse, there's really something fun and compelling about taking on single track. I expect I'll keep doing it and am having a hard time not getting those new wheels with 2 inch tires.
