I had no idea that only 100 of these beauties were made, and have no idea why they ceased production, but I sure am glad to own one.

Now I have never ridden a V20 or earlier version Silvio, but the seat angle is perfect for me.

Any, here's a pic of mine!

After this thread I’m never going to find a used one.

Man I don't know how I found mine, basically through a friend of a friend. And I got really lucky because it doesn't have a scratch on it. Good luck in your search!

Mine is available for sale, just send me a DM. It does have the long chainstays, though, so not suitable for you.
Cost is $2,000, without wheels or pedals, not including shipping, price is firm. Location is SF Bay Area.
SRAM Force and FSA components, some additional accessories.
It has one long scratch on the left chainstay, otherwise in great condition.

I would also consider a trade for a Vendetta.
At some point I'll list this in the For Sale section, just haven't gotten around to it.

Thought I'd throw a photo of mine into the discussion also. I think the S30 is the sweet spot of the Cruzbike road bikes, and too easily forgotten. It is great for long distance road rides.

I set mine up with a 1 x 11 SRAM drivetrain; a 10-46 cassette with a 39t chainring; and a Volae carbon comfort seat.

As we have been approaching Spring and riding season, I thought it was time to overhaul my S30 to get it ready. One big change I was considering was to replace my Volae Carbon Comfort seat with the original Cruzbike carbon seat. After running into a rotator cuff injury and a recognition that me shoulders were too rounded forward, I thought it might be good to try to lay back more with my upper back and shoulders. The CB seat provides that seating position.

I thought I'd show these updated pictures in this thread since it is already showing examples of S30s. Anyway, I made a bunch of changes for a variety of reasons, and here is what I've come up with for this year:

Right_side.jpg

Left_rear.jpg Front_right.jpg Rear.jpg

The major changes were;

1 - Replaced the FSA Gossamer 152 mm (shortened) crankset plus a 39t mid-chainring by Rotor (oval) with a Lightning carbon 160mm crankset and a 40t CX1 Q-ring. Couldn't leave the nice Lightning crank laying around!
2 - Removed the TRP Spyre disc brakes and installed SRAM Force rim brakes. Have never been overly impressed with the feel of the Spyres and wanted to try rim brakes since they've been impressive on my Volae.
3 - Installed new FLO30 wheels with disc or rim brake capability. Needed rim brake wheels and these were on sale. Also mildly curious if even modest aero wheels matter.
4 - Remounted the original Cruzbike carbon seat, but added an S40 extension to increase the seat pan and discourage sliding off the front. Also stiffened the upper half of the seat by using insulated clamps to secure the top of the seat to the headrest bars - the carbon seat has always had holes near the top for presumably this reason.
5 - Added a Cruzbike S40 seat cushion
6 - Drilled new holes in the seat to mount a bottle cage further up on the right side (to avoid hitting the brake cable); and mount a bottle cage further down on the left side.

These changes provided a sizable weight loss, which has been a coincidental bonus. Without accessories (lights, computer, rear bag, and headrest) the S30 came in at a svelte 25.4 lb. In contrast, my earlier setup shown in the earlier post in this thread weighed about 29 lb without the seat bag and no lights.

I've only been able to put in 40-50 miles on the new configuration so far. It obviously feels different due to the more laid back shoulder geometry. I think I am getting used to it, but need more time to be able to forget about it completely. The S40 seat extension has transformed the seat for me. Without it, I never felt comfortable on the S30 seat and always felt like I was sliding off the front. Totally unscientific impressions from speed gained rolling down known hills in town suggest the bike is running 5% or more faster than the earlier configuration. I assume that's mainly due to the more aero seating position?

The S30 has been a fantastic long-distance road bike for me, and I hope these changes continue that tradition!

Oh, heck. Why not. Here's mine. Almost as fast as the V, and, with the rear rack, almost as much utility as the S40.

Question for you S30 folks. It was not offered for sale any longer by the time I learned of CB. Like many I was torn between the S40 and the V20. Probably would have split the difference with the S30 if it had been available then. But I've always wondered how the rear elastomer works on the road on hard efforts. Looks like it would be great on uneven pavement/gravel but wonder if in a sprint or hard climb effort if the elastomer would create bounce/loss of power. Have always thought it a sweet looking bike. On the rare occasoin that one comes up for sale I wonder if I can justify a 20. 30 and 40. I know, N+1 . . .

Well, I'll try again with the pic...

The rear elastomer does not affect power because all of that is put to the front wheel. The rear wheel is pretty much just along for the ride. Compared to the V, the S30 does feel a little less connected to the ground, but that makes sense; it's a mild floating sensation. Until recently, I did have all three--a V, S30, and S40. Having both Silvios really was redundant. I recently sold the S40 and kept the S30 (though if the S30 did not have a clean way to mount a rack, I probably would have sold it and kept the S40). If I had a V and S40 only, I'd be happy with that too.

My new to me S30. I am still working on the fit. It came with Shimano Ultegra components. The crank length is 165mm. I use Sram 150s cut down by Bikesmith on my Silvio 2.1.

Anyone have a suggestion about changing the Ultegra to 150s? I don’t think my knees are going to like the 165s.

Easiest (and cheapest) is to buy a used Ultegra 180 crank and tap it locally down to 150. While you want you can always just swap out the BB and crank from your 2.1. It is almost as fast as swapping out pedals.
