hello,
I am enjoying my s40 near Paris (France) and start commuting with the bike
All is working good, sensation are top :) need to practices more and more but what a bike !
I have only a few issue on the slider (the boom) witch is sliding when I push hard on the pedals. I try to screw the bolt more and more (one the 4 located on the bottom bracket and the one the slider) but it is always sliding anymore... I try to degrease the sliding parts but still sliding. May be i need to screw the bolt harder but I don’t want to force to much on theses ones.
May be you have an advise to give me ?
Best regards

I had a similar issue a while back on my V20. I also did not want to over-tighten the bolt. I noticed that the two halves of the clamp were already nearly touching, so I made a shim from a vegetable can and slid it between the slider and the clamp (you cannot see it at all). That allowed me to tighten the clamp a wee-bit more and I haven't had slippage since. That was three years ago.

Thanks for the tips, I will try this. On mine the halves are not closed but may be the this will solve :)

I would post some pictures before you try anything to see if maybe you have it set up wrong or to loose.
Generally speaking if everything is done correctly the boom shouldn't move.

I developed over time incremental movement. It was related to my dry quick release at wheel . So I lubed and also under the clamp I
Used a layer of electrical tape. Or as slim suggested a piece of wet and dry would work well. ( auto motive sand paper )

I have used Park SAC-2 Super Grip assembly Compound in similar situations. It's a grease containing small particles of silica, the tubes slide easily to adjust & then hold tight without having to excessively tighten the bolts / quick release.

Hi,
Just to give you an update, I am now riding near 400km on the S40 and I am still happy (my commute is 74km per day). The average speed is equal or better to my DF either in town so this was the goal. My average bpm is less around 20 !
I feel really more relax and now I clearly understand how the frond drive wheel react and what not to do...or do !
I need to reinforce my arms strengh especially when I am tired and when I'm less relaxed.
just only a little point of pressure in the middle of my back when I push hard. But as said before I think this is because I'm not totally relax at this time so this will be better. and may be a ventisit will be the next option
