Seatpost help

Hi it has been a while.

My first build was last year with a Wal-Mart Avalon.
Worked real well until a few weeks ago.
During routine maintenance I noticed the rear shock was tweaked and the front suspension seemed to be going. I had an older mountain bike that I put a new fork input have one issue.
The seatpost is a 28.8 and I have not found a straight seatpost that size. I have also looked for a shim, but have come up empty handed so far.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi Rod,

I think you need the first one on this page...

Doug,

Thanks. Maybe it is because I'm a bit anal. I did see that, but did not consider it since it was only 28.6

Changing the topic..
How would you fix the issue that the tire needs to be raised to properly line up with the brakes? :?:
Move the mounting holes where the forks attach to the offset bracket?

Thanks,
Rod

Rod,

I assume you have the fork turned around 180 degrees, this is required to get the brakes to line up.

Also, you should be placing the wheel axle about mid-way in the axle slot in the triangle brackets, and then using the furthest-forward set of mounting holes that will work.

A photo would help.

Best,

Doug,

After trying everything I could think of I went into the LBS I had purchased the new forks from and ask the if they had put a fork on for a 29" wheel?
They looked and said that they had.
They would order a new fork, but i asked if we could work out a good price for new wheels and they will since they indicated if was their mistake.
Thanks for all your input Doug.

I will post pictures upon completion of this build.

Should be riding soon.
