Larry not listed in the 100 results but in at 4:15.25 did he sprint Jim at the line? Looks like he was registered for the 12 hour and decided the wiser course was to stick to his training plan and stopped at 100.

Maria currently at 136.6 miles 6:30:33 at lap #4 (Riding a Silvio)
Kevin Gambill at 160 miles 6:16:03 at lap #5

Update from Instagram a little while back:

cruzbikeJim is done! 4:15 is his unofficial century finish time. Larry is out of the race after a mechanical and a fall. Fingers crossed his shoulder is not seriously injured.

What really happened!
I came in on the Century (officially 101.5 miles) at around 4:16:??
I was about 1 minute behind Kevin at that point, as he went out hard with Jim and the end and I did not.
Our plan was to stick together for the rest of the day after the Century and try and rack up as many miles as we could.
Best laid plans of mice and men:
Half was though the 1st short loop (11.7) miles my front latex tube blew out - again.
Yeah, what a string of bad luck... blow out on my front tube again! Last time I rode with Kurt S. in Tampa it did the same thing after 180 miles.
I think I am done with latex - or maybe there is just some strange defect in this wheel - or the box of tubes. Investigation will ensue when I get home.
It blew after about 106 miles. I fell hard on my left side. No road rash, but dislocated my shoulder, and came within a couple of feet of being run over by a car in the opposite lane after sliding near the middle of the road. They gave me morphine and Delodan for pain at the hosital, but neither worked. They had to put me to sleep, after waiting 4 more hours since I had something to eat at 5am.
It was very painfull, but after they popped it back in, it was fine. It hurts a little and the bottom of my forearm and the tips of my fingers are still numb.
I'm supposed to take it easy for 4-6 weeks.
Bummer I only got to ride about 106 miles. Kevin G made in 276! New course record and he basically rode it totally alone after the Century. Very impressive!

Ouch! Glad it wasn't worse, but you have wayyyy too much fun on asphalt. Nice ride, Larry. Rest up, looking forward to hearing your further adventures when you're back on the road.

In thought; expanding the paradigm of traversity
Hi Larry, it looked very unpleasant and thought at the time that you must have gone down hard on the left. All the best for a speedy recovery.

I actually learnt a lot observing from the pits and look forward in getting a new V20 in April.

It was enjoyable to meet the crew and it was a great day out.

I love the Florida weather too.

Hi Larry,

I'm glad you're getting better now and aren't too badly dinged up. I'm sorry it was as painful as it was.

I read the update on Facebook. It was written as if everybody knows you fall over for fun. :)

Maybe tubeless or solid tires (or training on solid and racing on tubeless) should be part of your future.

Back home and cold as heck. The weather was so nice down in Sebring ! In a nutshell my race went down just fine. The decision to switch to the aero, non-tubeless wheels for more speed was flawed. At mile 40ish I heard a strange clanging sound but continued to ride anyway. After 500 yards or so it ended on a turn when my flat tire rolled off the rim. A quick tube change and I was ready to go. It would have worked better if I had put all of the new tube inside the tire instead of leaving some of the it pinched on the bead. So after the second flat and another tube change (Thank goodness I brought two tubes) it was a good solo run to the finish. For all of you procrastinators get out to one of these events. They are well worth the experience no matter your level. Sebring is one of the better ones with the large number of recumbents, weather, and atmosphere. Excuse me, While I go put my tubeless wheels back on. FOOTNOTE: When you see Maria's Silvo time take off several minutes. When she heard I went down she turned around to make sure I was alright and it took a lot of insistence before she would leave. Parkers are first class!

Wow. She came in second overall for women by 3.8 miles, and I believe 7th overall (men and women). Minutes really matter at that level, it was definitely a sacrifice on her part!

Reading on BROL, they say the track is infamous for having little bits of steel wire on the track, since its main purpose is for racing cars apparently. Flats are common.

Great write up Larry. Too bad about the fall, but as you said, you're still here and riding, and that's good. Looking forward to any videos.
