Shipping Case Recommendations for Cruzbike Silvio 3.0

Hi,

We are considering an international cycling trip and will want to ship my Silvio 3.0. I welcome recommendations on shipping cases and shipping carriers who know how to pack our bikes safely!

I have some pictures of packing my Silvio S30 (except for the seat) into a Co-motion soft-sided bike case.
I completely dis-assembled it, but then I had only airline-legal luggage to deal with, which made my trip far more tenable.
This works well so long as you have a place to stash the case while you're touring, and can assemble/disassemble the bike.

I was able to dis-assemble and pack the S30 in around 4-5 hours at the end of my trip (I simultaneously cleaned it, else it'd be faster).
Assembly probably took me 8-9 hours in the hotel room using only the tools I brought with me for touring.
That would have been faster if the light in the room hadn't been so.. dim.

Though this seems like a lot of time, that is far less time than when my bikes were lost for 3 days at the start of a tour...

I can post a pic or two about how I fit the bike into the case if that is useful. I thought I'd posted them already, but I can't find 'em!

Oh. And the seat I carried in my 2nd piece of luggage: A dufflebag that was also stuffed with my clothes, etc.

Aha found pics of my packing my S30 into the co-motion case.

First you put the non-drive wheel on bottom. I snuggled the bars next to the wheel at the bottom wall of the case.
Then a layer of foam.

Then, the middle layer. This one has the most interesting bits, including frame, fork, the top 'half' of the bars (I had bullhorns)



The empty part in the middle is there to ensure you have space for the cassette (which will be on the wheel on the next layer):
