Shortening the steerer tube of Q45

I was just going to ask if that was a rubber chicken!
And now I’ve completely forgotten what I was looking at. Ha!

My seat is in the next to lowest reclined position and I'm a very average 5'9" tall. My thighs only clear the underside of the handlebars by 1.5-2cm, so I contemplated having a longer steerer tube, to make room for a trigger shifter, which I prefer.

Or you could loose some circumference in your thighs. Once you have rubber chicken legs (like me) you will no doubt have enough room for trigger shifters. :p

You can get your seat lower on the bike if you reverse the seat mounting plate 180 degrees. It fits either way. It'll be a bit more nose up, but workable. Not only does it move it down, but back a little as well. Then your cranks can be a little higher.
