Just made my 12th ride upcountry on rural roads. Learning the bike and how to ride a recumbent at the same time. Making progress, but a way to go yet. I hope to ride it soon on the skyline tract in Bangkok around the airport. Semper Fi![/QUOTE
Day one ride, where a local DFB team of young boys (my son included) killed me. My son leading a 2 HP farm truck uphill.

I am about to use a CAT eye veto wireless + on my bike to get the benefits over time of data. Does anyone know how to upload this data to a computer or smart phone Apple? does anyone know of a spreadsheet or log that is a good keeper of ride data?

Sadly that cateye model does NOT have any data upload capabilities .
I am using a Cateye Stealth 50( since renamed ) and it uses a cradle with a usb connection and software from cateye to move data .
The three (3) cateye smart computers seem to allow head unit to phone data capture.
later,, bye

If you have an Apple iPhone or Android you can load the free Wahoo Fitness app. That will at least let you record GPS speed data and wireless HR data on the cheap to start collecting data. Unless you are doing race style data the GPS speed will be close enough to the wheel sensor for getting started. Other alternative are the free version of Strava, RidewithGps and Emdomodo.

Also, many Samsung and Sony phones support the ANT+ standard used by many wireless sensors (speed/cadence/heart rate/power). Some apps mentioned by ratz can take advantage of some of those sensors. I use the ipBike bike computer app which uploads to many of the online services and supports a wide range of sensors, ANT+ and some Bluetooth Smart. Cool new feature: support for the Bluetooth Smart-enabled WeatherFlow WEATHERmeter for logging wind speed and computing virtual power. (Essentially what the PowerPod does, though probably not as well currently).

Went to Skylane in Bangkok today, a dedicated 23.5 KM bike lane around the international airport. I made one lap, still learning how to pilot the Silvio S 30 machine. Great ride around the airport, many beautiful birds along the Klong. Got a nice recumbent face sunburn, forgot to apply sunblock. My cat veto computer did not work so more technical details to sort out.

I use the Sugoi arm cooling sleeves that are really good. Just add a little water and hey presto you don't overcook

I used Sugoi on a couple of 40+ C days riding in Canada, and cooked! BUT I did not think of adding water to the recipe!!!

adding water
I am in the south of Spain and regularly in the summer it's 40+. The good thing about cooling your arms is that it does effectively help regulate your core temperature. It's only the 22nd of May and at midnight tonight it's 28c. I am pretty sure it's going to be a hot year for sure. So it's really good to have the Sugoi at hand.

I was doing the Caravaca to Murcia via verde (MTB) path and like a fool I forgot them and we were traveling midday. I won't forget them next time.

I have the sleeves and the leggings . Surprisingly the leg one even in black are very cool. Dump water on them and it gets down right chilly
