I've seen one Sofrider owner equip his bike with a Planet Bike rear fender on the front, and the front on the back. Installing a rear fender on the front provides greater "wrap-around" coverage as it is needed to channel water/debris away from the chainrings/bottom bracket.
However, installing the front fender on the rear wheel leaves a large arc exposed, which results in water/debris being directed onto the frame beneath the seat.
Typically, it seems rear fenders are "longer" and cover a greater "arc" of the wheel, whereas the front one is "shorter." These dimensions work fine for a conventional upright diamond-frame bike, but not for a Sofrider. It seems one needs two conventional rear fenders, so I may have to buy two sets to get the coverage needed, or find a set that offers more coverage on the front.
