Sofrider First Ride Oh Oh OOOh

Hi Folks , This is my first post and I am fully stoked.

Today was my first ride on my Sofrider . WHOO HOO . What a hoot.

So much Fun and very impressive .. Soft may the ride be but I think the name should include
something along the lines of " rip snorting worm burner" .

I went up a road with a slight incline which I usually navigate on my way to pick up my son from school.
It is early in the ride and it normally hits me a bit . On the sofrider it was not even obvious I was on an incline . I may have been high on adrenalin but the bike gobbled it up .

I see what people mean by using different muscle groups. I only rode 12 Ks cos my arms were getting sloppy.
good part is that 12k normally leaves me with a sleeping happy dragon. On the sofrider no numb groin or rubbing.

Gotta go back to work now . Can't wait till morning .

Cruzbike___"Cos that's how we roll !! "

Thanks Charles

Thanks Charles,
I rode again this morning . Very windy but I hit amazing speed on a slight decline into the wind.The air seems to pass over you.{I don't where any lycra either.Just plain shorts and t shirt. }
I put her into top gear and absolutely fanged it . Must have impressed the magpie that decided to swoop me .
It feels like a whole body workout when you get home.

My next task will be hydration. I am not sure that I am able to reach
one handed to get a bottle from under or behind the seat. I think I will have to invest in one of those fancy packs with the sippy tube.

Once again thanks for the welcome .

I'll be out on the road if anybody want's to join me.

First ride

Hey doug, Greetings from the states. Just ordered my Quest yesterday so I am waiting for it to arrive yet. So you did not have the dreaded learning curve that everyone talks about? Is it blown out of proportion a bit? From what everyone says just being able to go in a straight line takes some time. Thats great you are able to hop on the wild weasel and go and I hope I can come close to your first ride. Keep on Truckin!

Hey Shortbus

Hey Short bus.

I did have the wobbles for about 1/2 an hour riding around a car park. Then I thought stuff this so I hit the road and found that a straight ride with a bit of speed was easier than slow around the car park . Momentum gave a bit more stability and then the excitement made me want to ride further . I have done a few bigger rides with significant hills that were tough on the DF but the sofrider purred. I even mashed up one hill and felt strangely powerful . Downhill is a bit scary still .Low wind resistance is intoxicating but I still have a slight wobble . I don't have a garmin or the like yet but I would guess I can do about 70 KPH and then I pull back .
One thing about the riding position I am going to have to overcome is that the sun is in my face and I can't tip my helmet to shade it. I am in the process of looking for a peak that can come out on more of an angle and probably longer. It is summer here and the Queensland timezone means that sunrise is 4.30 AM.
If I am out too late I get hot and fried. (I am a white fella with a chrome dome)

.Got to go to bed now so I am up at 4.30 (If it stops raining).

First ride

Howdy Doug, (thats what we say in the wild west). Going to pick up my Quest this mourning and have my LBS assemble it so I will be on the beast in a few hours. Pretty stoked myself and I will report back with my virgin ride. I am a white dude sportin the chrome dome to but on a bike the reflection of the sun on my bald head gets the attention of the cagers.
